Is that Pat Boone dick-in-a-box picture real?
Don’t expect to learn much about this. Snopes.com, for one, won’t touch it.
Sorry I’m not much help but if you search there was a thread on this a while back. I don’t remember the answer.

The silence surrounding the pic just seems odd, that’s all - especially seeing as it ran in *Hustler *over 30 years ago. My theory is that Pat’s lawyers came after someone.

For some reason (probably because I heard something about Pat Boone on the radio recently), this came to mind.
in the past six years, has there been any more information about whether the photo is real or not?
um, why the box ? Surely its “hey pat, open this box for the camera”,
and he doesn’t know whats in there ?
See how there’s a flip up section around the genitals ? I think the idea is that he first looks and sees nothing. Perhaps a picture of a male Gallus gallus domesticus,or a womens bikini or womens pubic hair or something comically absurd.
So then when it becomes time for the picture, the section is flipped and it shows male genitals, but somewhat small… Not so small as to be unbelievably small …
So why the box ? Its to trick the box holder into opening the box for the camera… Its concealing a flip up mechanism, so that the picture changes when he opens it for the camera.
The sections middle line seems to run through the genitals. Either Pat had a bizarre accident with a butchers saw, and suffered an amazing coincidence when this picture was taken … or … its just a picture stuck in there.
could someone please provide a bit of background about what the heck you’re talking about?

Happy to! There is a black and white photo of a youngish Pat Boone, standing and facing the camera. He is holding a box in front of his crotch (think of a shoe box with the lid off.). There is a hole in the box and his penis is sticking through the hole, in full view. He is otherwise fully dressed. The claim is that this picture surfaced in someone’s trash.
The inside of the box looks exactly like the inside of a box. There would be a line there where the two longer side flaps meet and are taped together.
I agree though that there is what appears to be a faint continuation of the line across his scrotum, but it is quite indistinct . It could be evidence that the penis image was physically pasted onto a (pri ted-on-paper) photgraph of Pat holding an empy box - ie the line showed though the pasted on section.
Put me down for amazingly underwhelmed.
I can see why snopes wanted to stay clear to this huge controversy :dubious:

The gag is a prank on an unsuspecting person. Person With The Box is carrying what looks like a present; but actually, he has his penis sticking through a hole in the box. The recipient opens the box expecting something nice, and gets something naughty instead. Shock! Embarrassment! :eek: It’s a dirty version of the old Severed Finger In The Engagement Ring Box trick.
Here is YouTube video that doesn’t appear to show any naughty bits. It’s five minutes long and the set-up (explanation, etc.) is long so I just forwarded to the pranks, which took place on the street.
The controversy is that Pat Boone’s public image is one of a very devout Christian who would never do such a thing as pull the Dick In A Box prank.
I forgot that Happy Fun Ball underwent a name change…
It’s funny, I almost posted Pat Boone’s in that thread but didn’t want to read through 3 pages of dick stuff just to see if it had been posted already.
Personally I’m inclined to believe the photo is real. It looks as though there has been a bigger hole that had been covered up by two flaps forming another smaller hole for the dick. That seems like a detail a hoaxer wouldn’t have thought of. Also the pic surfaced before the advent of PS. I know that there was photo manipulation before that but still…
