Do fishes sleep? What is Pat’s position on sleeping fishes?
'Ello. 'Ow 'are 'ou?
10 points for the reference.
One thing I did not need (today or ever) is the image of Pat Robertson’s low-hanging fruit. Seriously. shudder
Duh.
Missionary, of course.
MSNBC question of the day: What do you think of Pat Robertson’s comment that a vote against intelligent design is a vote against God?
Right On: 14%
Out of line: 86%
It’s that 14% that concerns me.
I quoted it in post 11.
That’s why many gay activists insist that Fabulous Design Theory be taught alongside evolution.
I think the “theory of intelligent design” is ridiculous, but from what I read in Pat’s quote, all he is saying is “if you dont believe in God, dont call on him in times of need (disaster) and expect Him to help” .
That seems reasonable to me. Im surprised he has been misquoted and taken out of context so readily by the newsmedia, all that does is fuel their argument that the news is “leftist” and unbalanced.
I think that’s what we need. A scientific theory that takes into account window treatments.
Might want to try actually reading the quote before you offer your interpretation of it.
“If there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to God. You just voted God out of your city.”
The vote he refers to was a vote to remove Intelligent Design proponents from the school board. It has nothing to do with atheists: he’s saying that anyone who doesn’t support schools teaching Christian theology in science class has turned their back on God. Doesn’t matter if they believe in God, doesn’t matter if they’re even Christian. They aren’t his kind of Christian, and God only cares about his kind of Christian. That’s not even remotely close to your interpretation.
If there is a natural disaster in the near future in Dover, could Robertson be considered an unindicted co-conspiritor? I assume God would have something like diplomatic immunity and couldn’t be charged.
It’s not so much that He has diplomatic immunity as that the process servers just can’t seem to find Him.
And if they ever do find Him, He just shrugs and says “It was an act of God.”
Robertson’s knocked the legs out of all the “Intelligent Design” proponents who believe in it as a scientific hypothesis to explain observable facts, not as a paraphrase of Genesis creationism. I mean, there have to be a bunch of them out there, right? Um, right? Well, anyway, Robertson’s actually done us all a service with this.
You may be right. All along, the IDers have been claiming it was a “scientific” (yeah right) idea. Robertson has put both feet in his mouth and shown them all to be full of shit.
It amazes me that an omnipotent and omnipresent being could be evicted by mere mortal vote.
What kind of porn do you watch (and where can I get a copy)???
Oh, yeah…Pat’s a :wally
