Patrick Stewart is no more gay. Then George Lindsey was straight.
I MEANT Paul Lynde from hollywood squares.goober was not gay.
My dad slept with my mom exactly seven times. He may have been gay.
Sure, and when he slept with a woman, he pinned a pic of Riker on the headboard.
Apparently not.
And BTW, I would do him.

I make no assumption about his preference in human partners, although i do know he’s married to a woman.
But I love knowing his preference in canine companionship. He’s all the more awesome for his enlightened stance!
People like to speculate and gossip about celebrities. They gossip about all sorts of things, not just sexual orientation. It’s mostly harmless. If you feel it’s all beneath you, OK, but you don’t need to wag your finger about it.
Also, Patrick Stewart isn’t gay. People think he is because his best friend is gay, he played a gay man, and he has a British accent. But he isn’t. If he was Sir Ian would have talked him out of the closet long ago.
This is one of those things that I keep relearning. I always think Patrick Stewart’s gay but since I don’t particularly care whether my celebrities are gay or straight, I promptly forget when I learn otherwise. I likewise have to learn more than once that people are or are not dead. At least when I think they’re dead, I’ll eventually be right.
…he said while wagging his finger at Icarus…
It’s a counter-wag. ![]()
He’s just really comfortable with himself, doesn’t take things too seriously, likes to ham it up with his gay bestie Ian, is British, and most importantly, a theater nerd.
That just proves he’s a good screenwriter.
But, in the southern hemisphere up is down, left is right, dogs are cats, and black is the new black. Or something.
Stewart’s a Retro-Hetro.
As for straight characters playing someone who is gay, I love a quote, from the opposite direction, from John Gielgud.
“I’m an actor, Of course I can play a heterosexual!”
Doesn’t to a stereotypical American any male who’s in theater come off as a little bit gay? Or at least that’s the stereotype.
Did you misspell Vinnie Jones?
thank you for sharing that ![]()
that’s about the size of it!
I don’t recall if it was Hamlin, but I remember reading many years ago where a straight actor had played a gay man in a movie/tv show. People had questioned his sexuality because of this, and his response was along the lines of “people don’t think you’re a murderer if you play one. Why is it different here?”
