Paul MacCartney's Father

…was James MacCartney, who (from one source I’ve read) in 1919 formed Jim Mac’s Ragtime Band.

Does anyone know what happened to said band- how long it lasted, where it played, and whether there were any recordings made of its songs?

Thanks!

You want to play 'em backwards?

Hey, if you play Glenn Miller’s “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree” backwards you can distinctly make out the phrase “We’ll fuck you all like Wendell Wilkie”.

(Where’s pepperlandgirl when you need her?)

Maybe not quite what you’re looking for, but Wings (under the pseudonym The Country Hams) recorded one of James McCartney’s songs Walking in the Park With Eloise. Don’t know if it was a song his father had done with the band, though.

Ok, the following quote is from
Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now by Barry Miles. Published 1997 by Henry Holt and Company Inc.
(Excellent book, BTW)

I wanted to look in my big Beatles Encyclopedia, but I can’t seem to find it. Maybe my sister knows where it’s at.

Just wanna make sure John Corrado sees the answer I hunted down!

Wow.

Stairway to Paradise = Stairway to Heaven

Chicago = Sinatra and the band by the same name

Lullaby of the Leaves = Lullaby of the Bees by the Ventures

After You’ve Gone = too many to count

Crazy.
