Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Jason Chaffetz etc SHOWING DISRESPECT: Avoiding Saying "Trump"

Calling him the so-called President makes it quite clear who you’re talking about.

This is the stupidest fucking pitting I’ve seen in a long time.

Besides, I’ve been calling him “Donald The Rump.”

We do need a specific term to refer to Presidents like trump and “W” who win the electoral vote, but not the popular. “His Accidency” has been used in prior centuries but I was trying to come up with something less pejorative. We may need it ourselves someday.

I tend to use President Cheeto or The Sentient Cheeto.

Sometimes (Insulting term)-In-Chief.

But IS he sentient?

Sounds like common fiction to me. I’ve never dealt with a president, but I’ve dealt with cabinet secretaries. It was always “The Secretary” or “Lastname” or (internally) “S1” unless it came from [del]protocol droids, I mean the shunned ones, I mean[/del] the comms office or some formal ra-ra speaking event where he was being introduced.

But then again I don’t use titles so maybe I missed something growing up. So do you have a citation? Assuming I’m not being whooshed here.

How about calling them rutherfords?

Do you have a room in your house with all this pasted up on a wall, with bits of yarn tying them all together in a web of conspiracy? Have you stayed up until 4 in the morning on multiple days agonizing over all the interlinkages, color coding by zip code and social security number?

No? You’re not trying hard enough!! Hint: The key is in the 4th word of every 3rd paragraph by these people. String together reverse alphabetically by speaker, and you’ve got it!

Donald the Unready?

They get an asterisk. President* Trump.

Works fine in print but…

What’s wrong with the so-called President?

Or nominal President.

I think it’s because they’re unsure if they should call him Trump or Drumpf. Until they come to a decision on this weighty matter, they’re leaving their options open, fearful of setting a precedent.

I just saw in a comments section the best possible title.

SCROTUS( So-Called Ruler Of The United States)

That earns a 21 grin salute.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner!!!

I’m sticking with Twitler for now.

Yeah, I think this is it. By saying “the president” then it emphasizes the office and its authority. It brings back the idea that of whether or not you respect the man you must respect the office, which for some reason seems to be coming back in vogue among Republicans in the last month after an eight year hiatus.

I think Buck and Little Nemo are onto something. The emphasis is on the office and its functions, not a personality.

Or maybe they are just rubbing the noses of those still in denial in it - he is the President, with no qualification. There’s nothing nominal or so-called or pretend about it - Trump is the President of the United States, just like Obama was, and for exactly the same reason.

Shodan

This is one of the lamest pittings ever. I rate it 1.3 out of 10. Never before has anybody put forth so much effort to so little effect. I’m not sure which is more pathetic – the fact that you think that a pitting is called for, or the fact that you went to so much trouble doing it.

If there were a list of Brainless Wonders of the World, you would be on it.
