Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Jason Chaffetz etc SHOWING DISRESPECT: Avoiding Saying "Trump"

I find the phrase irksome. It sounds like denial. There is no ‘so-called’ about it. We may wish it was different, but he’s got the job.

‘so-caller leader’ would still be appropriate. As would Cheeto-in-Chief.

I’ve repeatedly called him “Trumpy Wumpy”, just because he sounds like and is as intellectual as a nursery rhyme.

But I really do like Twitler and SCROTUS.

Sam Seder says “The President Electoral.”

“D’errr Furor”?

I see your point, but he called a real judge “so-called,” so it’s tit for tat.

And I’m all in favor of tits.

When said out loud, you use air quotes.

Funny how that works, isn’t it?

But for how long? The Russian connection seems to FINALLY be gathering momentum. I’ve been questioning it for months myself. Sooner or later there should be a tipping point.

“Putin’s bitch” is as good a title as any.

I’ve been saying ‘Putin’s Poodle’ but not typing it, as it may be too close an echo of accusations made about Tony Blair, yea many years ago.

As for Trump’s so-called allies (Ryan, McConnell, Chaffetz, etc.) working hard to avoid saying his name—no, kiddies, they’re not avoiding his name to be More Respectful.

They’re avoiding saying his name so that there won’t be any video or audio clips that can be used against them in their upcoming re-election fights. Duh.

How about PO(TU)S?

You just won the Internets!

Undeserved but thanks. As I noted, I only found the phrase.
Elayne Boosler gets the credit.

Possible gonad sighting. Still too early to know for sure.

We’ll see.

Ran a search and concatenate using your parameters and the complete works of Ayn Rand popped out.

No.

Respect has to be earned, and if it’s not earned yet it’s not required to give it.

So… you’re saying it was OK to disrepect President Obama or a Democrat President but not OK to disrespect Trump?

Sorry - I actually like that they aren’t using such a double-standard. Who cares if they’re happy with the PotUS or not?

Although, if it’s acceptable for Trump to question the legitimacy of a federal judge who has been on the bench since 2004, it seems only fair to use the same turn of phrase to question the legitimacy of this so-called President who not only has only been in office for less than a month but has neither held previous public office in his 70 years nor has a political science education.

Or maybe POSUS (Piece of Shit [of the] United States)?

That was my thinking.

No, I’m saying that those who are benefiting from Trump’s popularity, as that popularity permits them to pass their dream-legislation, are the ones who should show him the respect of speaking his name.

As opposed to making very, very, very, very, VERY sure that no video or audio clip exists of them saying his name-----because they know such clips can and will be used against them when they run for re-election.

I’m saying that these men (pretty much) are USING Trump without showing him the common courtesy of saying his name. They are USING him and at the same time, choosing to disassociate themselves from him.

I don’t care what Trump’s opponents call him or don’t call him.

I’m saying that those who are making use of him should show him the basic respect of using his name.
