Cops, Live PD , now cartoon Paw Patrol! Come on…Paw Patrol!?
If anything, I’d say that now is when we especially need depictions of the police as they should be (well, an oversimplified children’s version of as they should be, but it is a kids’ show, after all).
Oh, was Chase stepping on the necks of black men?
Just curious, where did you hear this? Maybe you need better news sources.
Cop went first and Abrams’ Live PD Later. There was Backlash for canceling Paw Patrol , but I was mistaken about it being cancelled. Mea culpa
I don’t know why it hasn’t been cancelled, after that episodewhere Officer Chase guns down the chocolate lab.
The Onion is always my go-to source for honest and factual news.
If you’re basing this on Amanda Hess’ column https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/10/arts/television/protests-fictional-cops.html you’ve failed to read it properly.
And that’s it. A passing swipe at a kids show in an effort to use it as an example of how the culture protects cops by wrapping them in the “good guy” short hand.
Weirdly a few months back people were going after some stupid doctoral essay on Paw Patrol as well. Thank good we’re past the time were the obvious corruption of Thomas the Tank Engine no longer matters.
Should also point out that Live PD involvment with filming a possible police killing in 2019 Javier Ambler, who died after being tasered by Texas cops, pleaded he couldn't breathe - CBS News footage of which apparently has been destroyed. 'Live PD' Destroyed Video of Texas Man Javier Ambler Saying 'I Can't Breathe' Before Dying in Police Custody
So you can see why a corporation might want to go to ground on this one.
Yeah I forgot who wrote it (maybe VOX) but there was an article that claimed Paw Patrol was racist and fascist a few months ago.
Which is honestly kind of interesting in its own way.
It’s “cancelled.” It’s a twitter hashtag that has been going around whenever someone or something offends the standard of decency (as chosen by the Twitter cancellation crew). As you can imagine, most don’t last long before there’s something new to cancel.
The OP is based on false information. I hope they come back and confirm they understand that.
See post #6
I’ve seen flimsier topics. We let that guy that claimed the Hollywood propaganda machine doesn’t make movies based on wars the United States lost get away scott free.
Except it hasn’t even been “cancelled”. Searching for #PawPatrol on Twitter today brings up a whopping 400 tweets, which are mainly either jokes or people complaining about Paw Patrol being cancelled (which it isn’t).
Whereas the Dope is always my source for whooshing noises
Yeah…I walked it back ok?
