Always the proud '99er, I just re-upped. Surprised to see that my PayPal payment went to the Chicago Reader.
Isn’t that out of business. Didn’t I really just pay CL for this service? If so, is the PayPal payment not going where it should?
Please clarify that The Chicago Reader is indeed a functioning separate entity in the world of Doperdom, and should have just been paid.
Of course the Reader is still an entity … still publishing every week too.
The* Chicago Reader* is owned by Creative Loafing Media Inc., along with the Washington City Paper and the Creative Loafing papers.
There was no need to change the PayPal portal – the proceeds flow from the Reader to Creative Loafing Media – so it has continued to be styled as it always has been. That could change – and if/when the paper is sold could very well change – but has not so far. Yet.
