Paypal and merged bank.

I just sold a camera on ebay, and accepted payment through Paypal. Now, I want to take the funds and transfer them into my bank account. Except there’s a small problem. Some time ago, my bank (NBC) was bought by Suntrust. My account number has stayed the same, but I don’t know if the routing number has or not, and I don’t have any new checks from Suntrust to see.

I requested $5 to be transfered from my bank account to my Paypal account, with the reasoning that if they can take money out of my account, they can put money back in my account too. Obviously, if the transfer fails, I’ll have to call Suntrust, and either ask them the routing number, or order some new checks and then update my Paypal account. I was just curious if anybody knew for sure whether or not I have to update everything for money to be transfered too and fro.

My bank was also recently bought out, from First American to CitiBank. I have had no trouble using my PayPal account, buying or selling.

I’m pretty sure my PayPal still reads “First American Acount # XXXX XXXX…” I guess I need to update that info.

I’m still using old checks, but have a box of new checks. I’m on my last book from the old account. My account number is still the same, I can check the routing number when I get home.

Usually the routing number will still work for a time. Anywhere from 6 months to years. Eventually however it will start to cause problems, but the mergers are usually designed so that people don’t have to reorder new checks everytime a buyout occurs.

Don’t ask here! Ask your own bank to be sure of any routing number.

Google is your friend. Check your Paypal account status and if necessary, update your routing number to 064202750.
