I have a MacBook. I currently use Cingular (“the new AT&T”). Apparently I can’t get a PDA from them that will allow me to hook my Mac up to the Internet, something I really need.
I’m month to month with Cingular, so I’m good with going with another carrier if necessary. What systems are options for me?
TY!
since you’ve not had any responses here, why not try posting your inquiry over at the apple support forums ? they don’t match the general breadth of knowledge here on the SDMB (what forum could?
) but they do have a lot of specialised knowledge about apple products.
Could you do it for me? I don’t have an account.
It’s not really a Mac issue either; I’m also asking for advice on good PDAs…
Who told you you can’t use one of the PDA phones offered by Cingular with a Mac? That’s bunk. I use a HTC Wizard (branded by T-Mobile as the MDA) with my Powerbook without any help or support from T-Mobile. I would go so far as to say that any Bluetooth-equipped phone can be easily used as a modem with a Bluetooth-equipped PC, regardless of OS.
Specifically, I use the Windows Mobile scripts from Ross Barkman’s. He also has a page with the Cingular network settings.
Any other providers better for this?
