Peacemaker series

Seemed like a pretty expedient way to immediately make you hate everyone in charge.

A thought occurs to me. I wonder if the Flagg we see in the finale is actually Clayface? It would explain the personality 180.

I thought of that, but why would he want a prison for metahumans, and have a grudge against Peacemaker?

I think Gunn mentioned it in the podcast that Flagg is unknowingly being manipulated by Lex since the deal he made with him and with putting him in with his crowd.

They just needed to redirect his inherent anger at Chris to serve Lex’s larger goals is how I took it.

I think Flagg became irredeemable here. I hate the character now.

But he was right there while they were doing lines.

It was so much of a heel turn that it could not have been actually Flagg.

It wouldn’t make sense for a doppelganger to be so obsessed with Peacemaker though.

Creature Commandos spoiler: There is a slight chance Flagg is Clayface But I don’t think they will go in that direction.

At the end of the second Shazam movie (post-credits scene), Captain Marvel (or whatever his name is) is approached by Harcourt and Economos to join their Justice whozit, but they decide he’s too freaking annoying and leave again.

On a personal note, this is probably the best scene in the entire film. Which was not good at all, and a waste of a lot of talented actors.

Googling, here is that post-credits scene

That sucks, I liked the first Shazam movie.

We were watching it shortly after Avengers: Infinity War was released and this little kid behind us was over the moon excited to see Shazam. Until it got to the All is Lost moment right before the climax, you know, where it looked like Shazam was gonna lose.

“Oh, no!” the kid wails. “First Thanos and now this! No superhero is ever going to win anything again!”

Why would we think he was a good guy to begin with? What has he done to earn that? He was nice to Harcourt, that’s it. Doesn’t mean he was ever a good guy.

I just started watching the second season. I was delighted to identify the woman with the rabbit ears who was rejected.

All during the season while watching the opening credits, I didn’t realize the singer for Foxy Shazam was a guy.

Something else about this finale is I could have lived my whole life without knowing there is a song called “Fucking my heart in the ass” but here we are.

James Gunn often has great taste in his musical choices but sometimes….

Oh, the music is almost universally terrible in this show, but that’s part of the charm, I think.

I can’t stand his voice, either. But it’s a catchy song and it does capture the tone of the show, so it’s been an earworm for a while.

Steel Panther are a parody band - sort of an R-rated hair metal Spinal Tap. They have some catchy tunes, though.

That makes sense now.

I figured something like that, but I’ve never heard of them. Pretty funny. I wonder if they have a lot of variety in their joke songs like Weird Al does. Otherwise, it would get dull soon.

They basically just do 1980s hair metal with funny, risqué, self-aware lyrics. If you’re into that kind of thing, you’ll like them. Here’s their romantic love ballad, “Community Property”:
