OMG, for a one note joke song, that is hilarious.
I’ve read and heard some interviews with James Gunn, and now understand a Flagg’s heel turn a bit better. Rick Flagg Sr.'s view regarding metahumans changed over the course of Creature Commandos and Superman.
In Creature Commandos:
Summary
The Bride straight up murdered Princess Ilana out of revenge for her killing Nina. The assassination may have been endorsed by Waller, which I suspect is why Waller is no longer in charge of Argus.
In Superman:
Summary
Hawkgirl killed President Ghurkos.
Between both those events and Peacemaker being responsible for his son’s death, I can understand how he would turn like that.
I still wonder about him laughing while Lex’s minions are snorting lines though.
If he wants to be racist against meta humans that is one thing but being a callous asshole while people who work for you and you are responsible for are dying is another.
