Peanut Butter: Super Crunch, Or Creamy?

Sorry…“crunchier” and “spoilered.”

Must have peanut butter in the ol’ keyboard…

I only eat creamy, Ardred only eats crunchy, and we both only like Jif.

Smooth Peter Pan Honey Peanut Butter

Now with more Crack and Nicotine!!!

My Lord, that stuff is addictive!!!

Natural peanut butter–smooth or crunchy, doesn’t matter. Having loads of high-fructose and corn syrup and hydrogenated oils, though–gross.

I have been under the impression that it was a “generational thing”. My children (all grown) all like smooth. I assumed it was because we had crunchy at home and when they visited “Johnny’s house” they discovered this wonderful new peanut butter.

About a month ago we ran out of PB and the local store only carries “smooth”. I bought a jar of that and a package of peanuts. I ground up the peanuts and mixed them with the PB. This created a PB with much too much oil in it.

"Oil" brings up the subject of natural PB. Yuck, what do you do remove all of the PB from the jar and put it in a blender? What do I know about it? Well I grew up on that stuff. Back then we ate it because there wasn’t anything else. When Skippy came out my mother immediately changed over despite the fact it cost more. If you knew my mother and money, that fact would leave no doubt about the virtues of natural PB. There are none.

I showed this to my wife, since she seems to think I eat too much PB.

I rarely eat peanut butter (or sandwiches at all; I like meat and lettuce wrapped with mayo in a tortilla better) any more, but when I did it was the crunchier the better. I love nuts in general and I don’t think I have a single dessert recipe without some kind of nuts in or on it.

The boyfriend prefers smooth peanut butter, but has conceded that peanut butter cookies (at least the way I make them) are superior made with the chunky stuff.

Rod Hill, your stories do not scare me. Bugs are not all that disgusting if completely pulverized and otherwise undetectable (they are just protein after all) and I have rats that will occasionally get past my defenses and lick me on the mouth. Rat hairs are nothing.

When I start finding whole cockroaches in my jar of peanut butter, we’ll talk.

Jiffy crunch. Love it, but I cant have due to being on a diet and needing to lose 20lbs. I would love breakfast, crunchy PB on toast. Lunch Crunchy on wheat. unfortunatly havent had any in 3 months. :frowning:

Mmm, Peter Pan creamy with honey on a flour tortilla, nuked for about 20 seconds. Mmmm…oozy peanut goodness…

chunky on sadwiches.

creamy with butter on whole grain toast.

I’ve bought the small jars of the crunchy variety to try it in the normal places. However, it’s so yummy right from the spoon that it has never actually made it to PB&J usage.

I like peanut butter and syrup (not heated) on a torilla instead of sandwhich bread sometimes. There you go, jinwicked, make a PB&J wrap and you get to join us PB lovers.

I love Skippy Super Chunk!!! All PB&J sandwiches must have chunky  My husband doesn’t care either way. The smooth/creamy PB is used mostly for Thai cooking and such.

i just polished off a snack, pb smooth sammich. I go with the natural too. Once you go natural, you can’t do that PeterPan and/or Skippy anymore.
I go thru a jar every two weeks too.

A peanut butter sandwich made with creamy peanut butter sticks to the roof of your mouth. One reason I much prefer chunky.

Creamy White Almonds or Tahini. You folk are SO Americanized…

Yes, I do eat almond peanut butter- fewer carbs. Tahini too, but it is way to sharp/bitter for plain eating. Both are great for hummus though.

Natural PB is better, as opposed to what most of you peons eat. No wonder Skippy or Jif does a jig on your tongue- corn syrup and sugar! Whoo-hoo! Why don’t you just grab a bag or candy-coated nuts and throw them in a blender? Real peanut butter is a pleasure to be enjoyed on its own.

I like to pour the oil off from the top of natural PB and replace it with clover honey if I want the sweet/crunchy fix. MMMMmmmm…honey peanut butter, drool

Unfortunately all of my holier-than-thou BS comes to a schreeching halt when I admit to liking peanut butter and mayo sandwiches.

Crunchy. Always crunchy.

Used to be Jif. For a while, only natural. Now I’m stuck on Peter Pan.

GT

Crunchy is the only way. Dante has a special circle reserved for those people who claim creamy is peanut butter…

Peanut butter is diseased llama diarrhea. Bleh.

I do love reese’s cups and satay sauce though. So creamy, I guess.

Oh hell yeah, preach it.

I haven’t had a sandwich involving peanut butter in quite a long time. At this point I’m afraid to open (or even look at) the antediluvian jar of jelly in the fridge.

But I do use peanut butter (Skippy Super Crunch) as a dip for snacks or a desert. I can go through a half sheath of Town House Crackers scooped in peanut butter in a sitting. And occasionally I like to scoop with Hershey’s Miniatures, 2 of each kind.

Bah. I pity the poor fools who have been raised under the false prophets of Jif and Peter Pan. Creamy? Smooth? Bah. Heretics.

Skippy is the one true peanut butter and Honey Roasted Super Chunk is the blessing bestowed upon us lowly mortals.

I believe that the superiority of Skippy can be traced back to a superior species of insects in their allowed insect parts. More insects mean more crunch!

I believe that rodent hairs add extra body to my peanut butter.

I believe that all natural peanut is a penance enacted upon peanut lovers by those who would deprive us of things that taste good.

I believe that the ordained partner for peanut butter is Nutella. Double the nutty goodness PLUS cocoa!

I believe that manly macho peanut butter needs a good hearty bread. Weenie squishy Wonder bread is a blasphemy against the glory of the nut.

This I believe. (And luckily my wife does too. Was part of our wedding vows.)
