I love peanuts, but they must be dry-roasted. The honey-roasted ones seem almost slimy to me.
I’ve never had a honey roasted one that was slimy.
Dry roasted because I prefer them not to be sweetened.
I just bought some dry roasted and when I had the first mouthful, I realized they were “lightly salted.” What a comedown. You gotta really watch the labels nowadays. What I want in dry roasted is maximum salt.
Love 'em both, but I give honey roasted peanuts the edge.
I know what you mean. The oil level is pretty extreme. I still prefer the honey roasted ones. Best of all is raw ones though. Tastes like summertime in Georgia.
I know that airlines try to cut prices whenever possible, but offering me dry roast seems like the ultimate in stinginess. Especially when you pair those dry bastards with a thimblefull of a beverage (80% ice).
I like both, but the honey ones are too sweet and go go well with beer.
Why not both?
I’ll give the edge to the honey-roasted ones just for the poll, though the brand I’m buying now (Aunt Ruby’s) makes outstanding dry-roasted peanuts too.
Dry roasted. Preferably by me in my own oven. My parched peanuts are not salted. On a plane, or at some event I ask for roasted peanuts. I will eat honey roasted if thats the only option.
Same method my grandad taught me except we parch ours in the shell. We say parched in the South, other people say roasted. They are tasty no matter what they are called.
