penalty for violation of probation

Long story, but I’ll spare y’all all the sordid details and give you the nutshell version.

A crazy stalker guy was charged with criminal harassment and threatening to kill. At his last court appearance, he admitted his guilt and was given one year’s probation and the case was to be continued for one year without a finding. At the end of the probation period, assuming he stayed out of trouble, the charges were to be dismissed. It’s been less than a week and he’s violated probation. What happens now?

Someone reports him to the police, they investigate, and if he has, in fact, violated probation, he gets arrested and brought before the judge who put him on probation. The judge now comes up with a new sentence, probably involving some time in the hoosegow.
