It’s RT, but it’s worth it for the photo of the Sukhoi-27. A sweet looking jet.
It’s all fun and games till someone gets an eye out.

Those are all file photos. None are of the actual incident. You can google up quite a few nice (and nicer) SU-27 pix.
And what is special (good or bad) about rt.com? At quick glance it seems like a typical news/click-mongering site to me.
Darn, I didn’t know they were file photos. It makes sense, of course. RT (Russia Today) is the online/(some) cable companies Mouth of Kremlin. Recently, such esteemed and varied folks like Kerry and McCain were saying the USA needed such a presence in Russia (never-mind Voice of America - but that’s just radio)
Several RT journalists have resigned in the past few years because they objected to having news stories rewritten to support the Kremlin’s version of events.
yawn
Last August, the Chinese were doing some aero-nautics, too (which the Pentagon stamped foot also protested):

I reckon the Baltic is now the equivalent of a “strip” where you drive your coolest cars really slow, and rev them loudly in neutral.
(High School Rules)It’s not like the Pentagon doesn’t do it, too.(/High School Rules)
Everybody does long range recce runs along the other sides’ borders. Everybody intercepts them. Some folks’ interceptions are more vigorous than others. The same game is played with ships.
There are treaties outlining the rules of the game to minimize the chances of somebody going too far and triggering an ugly incident. But some teams follow treaties more scrupulously than others. Or just have higher or lower quality operators & training.
The Soviet response to KAL007 intruding their airspace was about 90% screw-up and about 10% malice. But it was still enough to kill a couple hundred folks.
It’s Russian propaganda which looks not-insane to a quick glance, making it all the more effective.
Here’s a good article which focuses on what’s wrong with them. They’re 9/11 Truthers, to begin with, simply because 9/11 Truth is usually anti-American in tone; they don’t care about facts as long as the political message is on-point from Putin’s perspective.
Thanks for the background. I just glanced at it all and didn’t pick up on the Russian connection. Subtle.
I must say overall that Putin’s Russia is proving to be excellent at 21st century propaganda & perception control. Far superior to the leaden Communists of the 20th century.
Not really a good era for the US to be trumpeting its own internal dysfunctions across the media.
Ha Ha, the US claiming “unsafe and unprofessional” intercept
Ha Ha ha ha ha ha
LOL
Good one
