“Race realism” - is that what the kids are calling these days?
There is no difference. Race realism is just the Intelligent Design to white supremacy’s Creationism. It’s an attempt to put a scientific facade onto the same bigotry.
And we know it’s not a coincidence that you just happen to believe this thing that every Doper finds offensive. Multiple mods know you’re a troll, even if they are too up their own asses to fix the issue.
Someone who genuinely believes what you say would find no reason to hang out on this board except to troll. And, if you don’t believe, it’s even more trolling.
No matter how many flavors you advertise, they all taste like shit.
Am I the only one who is happy about this supposed boycott? I don’t want any of these shit heads to be in the theater with me. The more racists boycott Star Wars, the better for me
I’m going to guess it matches pretty well with demographic distributions in the 1970’s
From your keyboard to Abrams’ brain.
Sorry, couldn’t resist. But seriously, that would be hot.
Fun fact…the first Asian in a Star Wars movie, or at least the first one with a speaking role, played a character named “Lieutenant Telsij”, in Return of the Jedi, and had the line “There’s…too many of them.” He was played by Eiji Kusuhara.
Here’s the line…
And compared to Asian men, Asian women are grossly underrepresented. Yet none of these white dudes are going to complain about the lack of Asian dudes.

[/QUOTE]I’m not looking for a role in the Star Wars movies or anything but I am getting tired of the incessent whining of SOME entitled white men who are upset that they are no longer society’s “only children”
It reminds me of how only children react when they get a sibling and they are no long er the sole focus of attention.
It’s funny you mention this, since it’s obvious that the only way colorblindness can be maintained is through creationism. It’s obvious to everyone that different groups of people, separated into different environments for thousands of years, will evolve to have different characteristics.
As for me being a troll? I come here because there’s smart people who challenge my assumptions. And I have three warnings in less than 400 posts. If I didn’t have the tacit approval of the mods, I would have been banned by now.

Why, so you do.
Interesting.
What if StarWars movie was an all or mostly bi racial cast? What if it was an all/mostly Asian cast? What if it was an al/mostlyl native american cast?
I’m curious how the reactions would be considering all the movies out there that were all or mostly caucasian that never got any racial reaction whatsoever.
Probably the same as the reactions to the new Ghostbusters and Mad Max movies.
You are apparently using “colorblindness” in some weird sense that I don’t think anybody else here is advocating for. Of course, everybody knows that genetically separate human populations have over time evolved some different characteristics: see, e.g., epicanthic eyelid fold, lactase persistence, different melanin levels, etc. That is indeed obvious.
What’s not at all obvious is the claim that different human populations also evolved measurable differences in much more complex and abstract characteristics, such as what we call “intelligence”. There’s no conclusive evidence that that kind of differentiation ever happened.
Primarily, this is because (AFAICT) evolutionary differences among isolated populations happen in response to differing evolutionary pressures. E.g., human populations who moved to northern regions found it more advantageous to better synthesize Vitamin D from sunlight, and less advantageous to maintain high melanin levels for sunburn protection, so they evolved lighter skin. Human populations who developed pastoralism found it more advantageous to be able to make use of livestock milk for nutrition, so they evolved lactase persistence. Etc. etc.
But AFAIK there has never been a human society in the history of our species where it’s not extremely advantageous to be smart. So evolutionary pressure in favor of the combination of complex abstract characteristics and abilities that we call “intelligence” wouldn’t be significantly different in different populations.
Well, lately the American electorate seems to have been experimenting with the possibilities that may present themselves. AND trying to see if xenophobia can accelerate the process, apparently.
