People who can ID dog breeds, and who watch TV: ID dog breeds from 2 TV commercials?

  1. “Bright House” cable network: a black & white dog, referred to as “Max” in the commercial.

  2. “Beneful” (?? odd name) dog food: a red & white dog that perks up its ears when the product name “Beneful” is mentioned, probably thinking “Beneful?? What an odd name.”

The dog in the beneful ad looks like a border collie.

the Bright House ad, I haven’t seen it. Also there are quite a few breeds that come in black and white, so I can’t answer that.

I think Max is also a Border Collie. It took me a while to remember the commercial, it’s the one with the dog who answers the phone, right?

I believe so. I’ve only seen the commercial one time myself; but I think it’s his master on the phone, and then Max runs off leaving him hanging for some reason.

I thought the beneful dog was a springer spaniel, but I’m not a dog person, so I’m probably wrong.

I’m having trouble remembering what the Beneful dog looks like but from what I recall I think it was either a Border Collie or Australian Shepherd.
