From what you have written here it sounds like you don’t hate children as much as you resent/dislike your brother. He sounds like a lazy arse and I can relate. I have a lazy arse brother too. He also infuriates me because he has managed to slide through life.
The difference is, in my family, I am the one who had the child (while married, my husband died) I went to college while my child was very young and have mostly supported myself (I say mostly because I did have a couple of years “sucking at the public teat”). While my brother, at 40, still drifts through life free from responsibility. He is the type that upgrades his computer/car/tv and then complains that he can’t pay his rent.
But the time I was on a benefit was crucial. I became a widow when my son was still a baby. I was not emotionally or financialy in a position to support myself and my family could not provide for us. But with a boost from the government I was able to get back on my feet. I went on to study and for many years have been able to provide for my family.
Resent all the system abusers and lazy arses you want but don’t hate their kids, if anything pity them…don’t hate the children, they had no say in anything.

Children are learning how to be in the world, that is their job! They only get to learn from what they are exposed to.
To say “I hate children” is to say “I hate people”.
If you do hate people, then that is that. But if you just “hate” children then perhaps you just need to think again and realise it’s not the children you “hate” but their parents because they are the ones teaching them how to be.
Oh, I hate the parents as well. But if you’d read the first ten pages or so of this thread, I’ve already cited a dozen reasons that I dislike kids besides the fact that the government takes care of their parents. My resentment for my brother has nothing to do with hating kids; indeed, I’ve hated kids since I can remember, but my brother’s only 20 years old, so it’s not like he’s been mooching off the government forever.
