Until I looked it up on-line, I thought red-headed Gillian Anderson, from “The X-Files” was the younger sister of red-head Jo Anderson, who replaced Linda Hamilton in “Beauty and the Beast”. Only when I read an interview that said “of no relation” did I realize my mistake.
(Gillian Anderson’s hair is also naturally blond.)
My very cute and sweet boyfriend thought Mario Lemieux and Claude Lemieux were related. They’re not. And until just now, I thought Helen and Christian Slater were sibings, so I feel pretty silly!
When Camryn Mannheim first came on the scene, I thought she must be related to Conchata Ferrell, they looked and sounded do much alike. It was nice to finally see them play sisters on Two and a Half Men.
I just learned recently (here on the board, I think) that not only aren’t Stellan Skarsgard and Peter Sarsgaard not father and son, they don’t even have the same last name.
Count me as another one who’s shocked to learn that Maureen and Jean Stapleton weren’t sisters.
Good lord, I misread that for a second and thought you were suggesting a family resembalnce between Celine Dion and Roz from Night Court (Marsha Warfield, who on her worst day would never be mistaken for a skinny white woman).
I thought that country music artists Blake Shelton and Ricky Van Shelton were brothers and was surprised to find that they are not. When Blake first appeared on the music scene, I never made any connection to Ricky Van, but when I saw a pic of him on a CD ad, I was struck by the resemblance. But online investigation revealed that they aren’t related.
I thought that the woman who starred in RocketMan and the woman who played Chessy in The Parent Trap were one and the same. Wrong again. It was Jessica Lundy and Lisa Ann Walter, respectively. But they do look a lot alike to me!
And I can only resoundingly agree on the resemblance between Helen Hunt and Leelee Sobieski. It’s really strong!
I had to check IMDB just now and confirm that Sarah Silverman and Jonathan Silverman do not appear to be related, despite all naming and physical similarities.
I initially thought conservative TV commentator Tucker Carlson was the son of liberal TV commentator Margaret Carlson. That they were appearing on the same broadcast of Crossfire only seemed to confirm this impression.
