Edited to add: I would look TERRIBLE bald, so I don’t think I’d do it for much less!
My hair is my favourite feature. The length is mid-back and it’s thick. Takes a long time to grow, so I don’t think I’d shave it for anything less than $500,000. Yep, it’s worth that much to me. I’d trade the hair for a house and some investment cash, but nothing less.
Wow. I’d sell a lung or kidney for that much, and those don’t grow back.
Nothing special; just your basic full beard. But I grew it when I was 18, and haven’t had it off but once since, and that was only about a week. Over 30 years now. My mother claims to remember what I look like without it, but I dunno if I believe her.
I cut about 14" off back in 2003. It is finally back to the length I like it - between my mid and lower back. I could not find any local info for LoL when I had my hair cut. I was disappointed. My hair was long and healthy - I wish I could’ve donated it.
That said, I’m not sure I could put a price on my hair. If I did, it would be a very high price (enough to buy a house, new cars, not have to work for a few years… you get the idea). I regretted cutting my hair. I don’t think I’d be a cute bald girl either. Call me vain, but unless I get cancer, my hair is staying.
(Btw, there’s a google ad for pubic hair dye - bettybeauty.com It’s even available in “fun” pink!)
Not too much. I’m trying to grow out my hair now from a really short cut, since I like ot radically change my hair in cut and colour as often as possible. This thread has made me thing that maybe I should restrain myself for a while and then actually find someone interested in shaving my head for charity. I think I’d look like crap for a month or two, but it would be a great experience.

It’s silly to be attached to something as flimsy as hair, but I know when I’ve got a good thing, and my hair is it. There’s something about random compliments from strangers, admiration from friends, the feel of it swinging down your back and blowing through the breeze, running your hands through it and tying it up…that’s near irreplaceable.
Really short hair doesn’t suit me, mine’s currently shoulder-length (just) and still looks awful. It’s very fine and doesn’t hold a style for more than about 30 seconds. Sometimes I think about trying to grow it longer just to see if the added length/weight would make a difference, other times I think about just shaving it all off and wearing a wig.
Oh, female …“of a certain age”.
I’m with VunderBob:
About $12 and a “whoops” away from bald every time I get it cut now.
Typically, my hair is 1/2" to 1" and spiky now. Grows fast enough that I need it cut every 4 weeks, or the spikes collapse under their own weight; shaving my head would add another 2-3 weeks to my schedule.
Thought about doing it, but I work in a fairly conservative office in a conservative industry. I’d do it for charity in a heartbeat.
Eli, 35 and Male
I’m 35 and have shoulder-length red hair. I would shave it off depending on if I could raise funds for charity by doing so. My aunt did that a few years back, she raised $9K Cdn.
I thought of this thread today as I was shaving my head bald… for free.

I’d do it for free. My hair grows so thick and so fast I’d be back to normal in two months.

I’ve done it in the past because I didn’t want to bother paying someone to cut my hair… which would put the value of my hair at around $10. If someone was offering me money if I’d do it, I’d haggle them for as much as I could get.
pic of me in all my hairless glory.
About £200. Maybe less. I keep my hair shortish anyway, it grows fast, and, well, I’m broke. I’ve thought about shaving it off before just for the hell of it. Probably wouldn’t really suit me, but eh.
27, female.
I shave it regularly for nothing, so I’ll take whatever’s on offer.
I’d do it for $20,000, though I’d prefer more. My hair grows slowly, but I could get through the long, long, long awkward stage by reminding myself that half my student loans would be paid off.
It would take a ridiculous amount of money to get me to shave my head, unless there was a 100% chance my hair would grow back bone straight instead of the weird funky wave thing it does now naturally. I’m talking upwards of 500k here. I would look horrible bald. My hair is a little above shoulder length and has been for a long time. If my hair would magically grow back straight, we’d be talking more like 25k. I don’t look good in hats.

Hmm, maybe $30,000. My hair isn’t great, but it’s at a decent length and the style is something I am comfortable with. I would shave it for $30K though, and just wear wigs until it grew back. Fake hair is more fun anyway.
Not much.
My hair isn’t attractive; so, no loss.
Me? It probably would take about $10,000 to get mine shaved. That’s because I’m fairly heavyset and would look like Curly Howard (only about a foot taller) if I were bald. If I could resemble Patrick Stewart, I might take less. Male, 49 years old.
