I drank a Pepsi One for the first time with my dinner today. It was actually pretty good. The can design kinda stinks, though.
What’s wrong with the can design?
I love Pepsi One, both for its unique taste and for the fact that Mr. Rilch doesn’t like it. It has put an end to the necessity of marking the Diet Pepsis.
YUCK! Thats even worse then Diet Pepsi. And regular Pepsi isn’t much better.
Why have a drink that has ONE calorie? Is there a use? Please tell me. Maybe if it had ten calories it would be different.
Just for your info, I drink Coke. None of that diet stuff for me. Blech!
“Pepsi One”? Isn’t that the plane that the president of Pepsi uses?
Pepsi One…who cares?
I wanna try Pepsi Twist!
Pepsi One is the most horrible, vile, disgusting, evil beverage to ever be created. It should be drug out to the street and shot. It should be felched with a ten foot straw. It should be munged a hundred times by a hundred men. It should be smashed and stomped and battered and beaten and destroyed, and the remains should be buried a thousand miles underground.
Why is it so bad?
Because they cancelled Josta so that they can make it.
DOWN WITH PEPSI ONE!!!
I switched to diet pop recently, in the interest of saving my teeth. Pepsi One is my favorite. It tastes far less “diety” than even Diet Coke, I think. I like it.
It’s a lie, right?
It doesn’t have any calories.
Check the can info. I haven’t but I know that it won’t have any calories listed.
Question is, why don’t they call it Pepsi Zero?
They don’t call it Pepsi Zero because the name “Pepsi One” sounds more marketable. Pepsi Zero might be more truthful, but who wants to think they’re a zero for drinking a product? Pepsi One has this air of victory and excellence, a “We’re Number 1!” kind of feeling. It implies that the other sodas, which are NOT Number 1, must be somehow inferior.
What, you thought marketing and product naming was based on fact?
I like Pepsi One. Not as much as Diet Sprite or Dieta Sunkist Orange or even Diet DP, but it’s in my top five.
Okay, is it just me, or has handy seriously slowed down his posting lately? Is this an attempt to foil all the bettors in the When Will handy Hit 10,000? thread?
Inquiring minds want to know!
I am so with dlgirl. For the life of me I can’t figure the logic of this market segmentation. You got your calorie watchers (where they sell Diet Pepsi), and your non-watchers where they sell the leaded stuff. What is the appeal of something that’s not really in the middle, but barely off of one extreme? And they’re not even trying to claim it’s a different flavor, like root beer or something. I just don’t get it.

My teeth are a mess, cavity-wise. I drink about a six-pack a day of diet pepsi, and my dentist claims that’s the problem. She says the sugar isn’t the thing, it’s the acid, and that diet is as bad as regular. I don’t know if she’s right, but as a dentist I figure that gives her an advantage on me at least.
I haven’t checked the can, but the syrup boxes used in restaurants for fountains list it as 1 calorie per serving. Perhaps the cans are different, though.
Bill H.: I’ve never heard anything about acid. I’ve had three different dentists tell me that it was the sugar. All of them have encouraged me to quit drinking pop entirely, but they’ve also said that if I’ve just gotta have it, make it diet. Kinda like the Trident “4 out of 5 dentists” thing. Four of them say if you’ve gotta chew gum, make it sugarless, and the fifth says no gum at all.
I was a Coke guy until faced with the necessity of cutting back on food intake or buying a new set of cloths. After trying a whole bunch of insipid, weak sister diet pops I settled on Pepsi One as a reasonable compromise between taste and calories. It isn’t good but its OK.
Yes…Pepsi Twist is good. It was good when they originally marketed it in the 80s as Pepsi Light, too.

I remember Pepsi Free, was the caffeine, sugar free stuff, right?
Pepsi TWIST is the Pepsi with a touch of lemon!
Sweet Fancy Moses.
You like that crap?! I am a man who has drank countless bottles of soda over the years. To the point where I now just buy what’s on sale. Diet Coke/ Pepsi? I don’t care. Back in college, I was even less picky. I’d buy the cheapest, generic soda I could, just to save money. Never found anything I really didn’t like.
About a year ago I tried a Pepsi One and couldn’t even finish it, it was so bad. Perhaps the worst thing I’ve had since ::shudder:: Crystal Pepsi!
What?!? I loved Crystal Pepsi, I was so upset when the discontinued it. It was good, really sweet as far as sodas go.
[sarcasm]Plus it was different, I mean, who ever heard of a soda that wasn’t Sprite that you could see through?? I mean, how revolutionary![/sarcasm]
If I’m not mistaken, aren’t all sodas just clear anyway, don’t they add coloring to it?
