The comment about about me was made by friends of mine as a joke. Get over it.I am hardly the oneto watch around here for flames.
Of course if you spent less time typing and more time reading, you would know that.

You’re right, Blockhead. This board has no class.
But now that you’re here, perhaps you can instruct us on how to be classy.
Of course, if we’re beyond help, then this board is beneath you. But thanks for your pearls of wisdom, anyway.
Putz.

Said the pot to the kettle… we’re all here, some are loving it, but please, admit that you had enough energy/time/interest to comment.
This board needs some class.
And this is coming from someone whose nick is “Blockhead”? My, what a flattering self image he has of himself.
It’s worth the risk of burning, to have a second chance…
I was going to be the voice of reason once more, telling you all to lay off and give the newbie a chance, etc.
Thenk I checked the guys profile.

Uh-huh. This is the perfect guy to teach us some class alright.

I do not know the issues that made Phaedrus a personna non grata to the board but after reading parts of his long, rambling, unfocused letter it became apparent that he was, at the very least, in a fragile emotional state. I think the classy thing for people to do is wish him well, good luck, and don’t heap scorn on injury.
It is obvious that Phaedrus took these boards way too seriously.
Good luck Phaedrus and stay well.
The truth is generally seen, rarely heard. Gracian.

Um, who were you talking to? Me or BlockHead? (You quoted me quoting him and responding to him, so it’s not clear.)
Am I the only one that thinks that Phadrus is Charley Reese? And I agree that it is best to leave Phaedrus/Charley alone.
I wish I had checked in while it was “live”…
Yeah, I’ve heard people mention the poster who shall remain nameless for some time now (always derisively) and wondered what the hubbub was about. Then I read that “goodbye” letter. Yeek!!! That guy’s seriously disturbed and his comment that he was going to seek some sort of counseling was encouraging. But his rambling incoherence IS appropriate for entertainment purposes…
Of course, someone that pisses Phil off so much that he leaves can’t be all bad, can they?

On this page, you’ll find a picture of Reese. He looks nothing like the guy in the photo that Phaedrus posted on the “psychosis” thread. It’s possible that the guy in the “psychosis” photo is not Phaedrus, but I’m sure that the guy in the Orlando Sentinel IS Reese because I used to live in Orlando and he occaisionally appeared on local TV there. (He used to debate another columnist, Myriam Marquez, on cable.) This is the same photo that’s always appeared on his web-page. It’s been there for YEARS and it matches his picture in the paper.
BTW, I disagree with what Reese says about the Civil War there.

Thank you, Andros. Ps–what do you think of my new sig line?
With magic, you can turn a frog into a prince. With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D, and you still have the frog you started with.
jab1: There has to be at least some connection between the two IMO. BTW Reese and Marquez still have the weekly left/right debate show that you refered to on the local cable news channel in Orlando titled “I’m Right And You’re Wrong” of all things.
Hey Jab,
Scary freakin picture, gonna be seeing that one in my nightmares. Yikes.
You’re right about that. He’s as ugly as a manatee that’s been dead for a week. (Not that I look like George Clooney myself… :))
Couple more things you may wanna know about Reese:
He’s a member of The League of the South, an organization of rednecks who believe the Confederacy should’ve won the Civil War because “the South was right.” (One of their members wrote a book by that title.)
One of Reese’s heroes is Nathan Bedford Forest. You know, the former Confederate officer who started the KKK.
Even Phaedrus didn’t go that far.
(I got this info from the Orlando Sentinel’s website. Unfortunately, Reese’s bio seems to be missing at the moment.)
