Technically my brother and his wife’s dog, but I’ve somehow become a frequent dog sitter. Not that I mind, she’s adorable although hyperactive and exhausting.
This is Oliver, who is orange and sleepy and bitey and wurzums. This is Joey, who has racked up $2800 in vet bills in the last 36 hours and he is still in the hospital. He is adorable and sleeps curled up in the crook of my arm at night and he is worth every penny, but man has this been a stressful couple of days.
I had a kitty named Cooper for about a month or so. He got along with the dogs pretty well, but he was too feral* for the condo we lived in so we gave him to my sister-in-law living in Reno.
When she moved to Virginia, Cooper wound up at her in-laws in Placerville, CA. Last I heard he likes to hide a lot, especially in the covered litter box.
*: Cooper and her sister were found in the engine compartment of my wife’s Mini Cooper. Mini, the girl cat, went to my wife’s co-worker and now rules that household with an iron paw, apparently.
Here is my pet turtle Bubbles, who I had from 1985 to 2004. She was an eastern island painted turtle, native to Long Island. My last Halloween with her, I incorporated her into my costume, for which I was an android - my abdominal compartment opened up to reveal that Bubbles was at the controls!
We had a cat like that, part of a pair called Bic(ardi) and Coke. Affectionate but not to be lifted up. She had four kittens, all survived long enough for Mum and kittens to be sent off to a farm to live out their lives as farm cats.
Here’sourJoe, looking more cool and laid back than he is when my daughter visits
Kizzy, one of our first cats, sadly run over a few months after we got him.
The standard picture of Gala and Dakota. Gala is white; Dakota is black. No matter what you wear, you’ll end up with visible dog hair all over it. But they’re well worth it.
