Pet pictures!

Ooh, that reminds me of this picture I put together about ten years ago. I’m a math teacher, you see…

That’s our Rocky, who left us almost three years ago. He always had a problem with his weight. He was the most easygoing cat I’ve ever known. I still miss him dreadfully.

When you want to free-longe your horse before riding, and he’s really good about obeying, but the grass… that grass…

Beautiful horse! I feel bad for our horses when we ride them through our neighbor’s apple orchards.

Horsie pictures? I got one!
This is Perry. He came named by the rescue group but just doesn’t seem like a Perry to me, so I usually call him Perr-Bear, or Po (short for pony), or Ol’ Shovel-head.

Perry is an odd name for a horse. I have a friend named Perry and he is an odd person. Next time I run into him I hope I remember to call him Ol’ Shovelhead.

Yeah, they named him after the town he came from. Say hi to Ol’ Shovelhead for me!

I just snapped this pic of Bob snoozing in his chair.

But it’s a great name for a platypus.

At which point, if he hasn’t before, he’ll conclude that you are an odd person.

Maybe Perry likes pears.

Then we should have called Jake “Appley”.

I’ve been remiss. This is Sadie, our 14-year old adoptee from the humane center.

Bonus math: the foci are both optimal scritchies. (Although some cats don’t like being scritchied at F_2.)

Getting all artsy and stuff: Light and shadow, with cat, starring the late Schooner, he of the thumbs and no neck.

Rikki and Becky Christmas Card

Another week required in the cone. He is resigned to it.

Poor boy!

Meanwhile, from way back when, Schooner as a kitten, when his ears went into their own private growth spurt:

He doesn’t look resigned to me!

He looks like “Just you wait till I get out of this thing. I’ve got plans --”

Oh very pretty kitty, reminding me of one I used to know!

You got that right! That picture was taken last week just home from the vet, completely aghast and embarrassed he was. A week later he is resigned to it. And the leg wound is healing, though it’s still raw hamburger it doesn’t slow him down.

This might be stretching the topic a wee bit, but the muzzle to the left was my late horse Ben’s.

1a.) Absolutely appropriate here.

2b.) Horse muzzles are one of the finest things to touch.

3c.) That’s just a really great photo.

He looks like he can hear colors.

ETA: @chela what kind of flooring is that? Me likes …
