I was going to say it must be The Cat of Amontillado, but my knowledge of Poe is obviously incomplete as I hadn’t realized there was a whole story about The Black Cat. No white markings on this one. Still:
Today I had to take my senior polydactyl tuxie, Bruiser, to the vet for his monthly Solensia shot for arthritis, but also for a workup to see what’s made him have diminished appetite, pee more, grow mats in his fur despite brushing, and other things. Waiting to see what the blood work results show. In the meantime, subcu fluids have him feeling better and eating better, and what mats couldn’t be brushed out have been shaved away.
Bruiser must have grown up in a home that loved him, given how much he likes people, but somehow he wound up on the streets, and had a 3/10 body score when he was rescued. He’d been gaining weight nicely with me but in the last couple of months it turns out he’s lost about a pound.
That fine-looking pup definitely deserves to have a full-size picture displayed. The trick is to use whatever browser feature serves to “display image in a new tab” until you get a URL with a “.jpg” (or “.jpeg”) extension which is a direct link to the image.
Herewith Oskar (it still doesn’t appear in its maximum resolution due to Discourse scaling it down, but successive clicking on the image magnifies the noble image of Oskar):
Nah, he loved being in a cat snuggle, in fact if he saw two or more of the orange boys cuddling he’d insert his sturdy body into the middle of the pile.
That picture just makes me grin, because I’m sure that Shadow (bottom) shoved his head under Zoe’s chin. Zoe looks like she’s saying “Do you see what I have to put up with?”
