Pet pictures!

Excellent!

Impressive ears, and an overall quite cute kitty.

Cygnus is so lean and muscular, too. Sometimes I wish he was a bit chonkier. But then he wouldn’t be able to jump from the ground to the fridge to the top of my cabinets in about a second (after getting a running start).

He is very black, but also quite shiny. Lots of licking involved.

Also patting, I’m sure.

Patting helps to polish up a cat. Though some will have rather a matte finish even when properly fed and patted.

Naptime!

Irving and Ophelia. Mario’s feet make an appearance in the corner.

Never mind. Photos are being wonky. They preview, but then they don’t show up when I post them.

Willis and Newman as kittens. They still spoon every chance they get.

My Kai cat in my comfy chair with his new favorite toy. Why yes, that’s a crinkle catnip infused cat toy in the shape of a bloody wood hand saw, why do you ask?

There appears to have been a weird internet glitch earlier that may be related. On my tablet, none of the pet pictures were showing up. I could surf the Dope but not some other sites. I went to my desktop computer and everything was normal. I went back to the tablet, shut down Firefox, and restarted, and suddenly beheld enough cat pictures here to elicit an involuntary canine growl!

What seeing cats appears to elicit, in the canine who lives with me, is a strong desire to wash cat butts.

Good heavens. Initially I didn’t see the raised head of Willis (or Newman?) against the dark plant pot in the background, and the picture looked to me like a large six-legged black-and-white cat.

Two sweeties, gone now, Pumpkin being protective of Sally.

How about Feline Centipede

Kai looks like a beautiful leopard and is welcome to eat lick my face.

Ah, one of those articulated tandem cats designed to maximize cattying capacity on busy routes where increasing the number of separate cats is not practicable :+1:

This is Rain and Buddy. I think they are brother and sister but could be father and daughter. They are the last of the cats from the former hoarder house behind me. They lived outside for about 10 years. Last winter I brought them in to the spare room before a snowstorm as I had done for the past few winters. When the time came to put them back out, I couldn’t do it. Now they live in the spare room. I feel kind of bad about that (I have three other cats) but they seem very happy. They have soft places to sleep (which they do most of the time), they have a window to look out and they are fed and comfortable. It’s the best I can do for them for now.

For those who have been asking for updated Ollie pics, here they are at last. He had a recent kennel stay and his minders caught a few good shots. Here are two.

The second one shows off those massive shovel paws a bit.

He did not love his stay. He does seem to appreciate me a bit more now, though! And I really missed him.

ETA:

You were right!

Gotta dig! Gotta dig!

Lovely looking dachsie.

My last dachsie was a black and tan as well. I was out for a walk in a field with him and my basenji. The basenji came across some sort of hole in the ground and was sniffing at, in a slightly curious way. Dachsie saw the hole, shoulder-checked the basenji out of the way, and started digging, digging, digging! It was a bit of a tussle to get him to carry on with the walk.

I’m sure they are! They know what they’ve got. :growing_heart:

Ollie looks sleek and well-fed, without being chonky (I have one of each category). That can be hard when they work you over with their eyes and plaintive noises.
