Pet pictures!

Maybe you could get permission to add to the limit of pets with a small fee? I think you said the mom is with child, though, so you probably don’t want that many cats! There is a website where they talk about relocating pets to places where the shelters are not overflowing; not sure how that all works but if things are so bad where you are maybe you could look into it. Maybe. Can’t be sure. I’m guesstimating “Tiny” at 2-3 months old and “Little Miss” no more than about 9 months. “Little Miss” does have enlarged nipples, suggesting recent or current pregnancy, but the round tummy from early morning had gone away by afternoon, and she rounded up again a bit after a large supper (she ate a whole can of food by herself), so at this point, I’m not sure if she’s currently pregnant or is “Tiny”'s mother. I might be able to coax the building manager, since he’s an animal person too, if he’s willing to flex on the “pets must be adults and altered” thing. There is a lot of hostile commentary among the adult cats, but “Little Miss” hasn’t gotten into any scuffles with Allie or Buddy (pictures of them appear up-thread) that I know of, and Allie and Buddy routinely have chase-and-swat fests between themselves.

I’m not worried about space so much as about how tolerant complex management might be on the subject and about whether everyone will calm down. Buddy moved in around June (community cat) and he and Allie still aren’t friendly.

“Tiny” is absolutely adorable! And I’m not even a cat person!

I believe you are. The worm is turning.

No, vicious lying self-serving felines are just beneficiaries of my general love of all animals. But I draw the line at welcoming any cat into my home. A dog, yes, absolutely, any time. A cat, no, except maybe in an emergency weather or hunger situation. When the emergency is over, I’ll kick the cat out, or assign my dog to show it the door. At least, that’s what I like to think I would do. But I have a hopelessly soft heart for animals, dang it all.

Are you sure Tiny is a girl? Little bitty boy parts are kinda hard to feel when they are that size.

No matter, what a cutie pie. I’m guessing 7 to 8 weeks but I’m often wrong about that sort of thing.

Awwwww!

I’m nearly certain her back end looks female.

I just looked up the sedative they prescribed for Bob. It’s Trazadone, which is basically Prozac for dogs. It doesn’t seem to be a sedative at all, but a happy pill. It’s said to treat major depressive and obsessive orders in dogs, neither of which Bob has ever suffer from, so I think fuck that vet … he’s not getting any more of those.

Trazadone is very sedative. At least in humans. I’m supposed to take one to two in the evening. If I take two, I’m useless before noon the next day.

I’ll take note of that. Thanks. I’m just concerned about a pendulum swing for him.

My dad had COPD and if he took his trazodone while not near his bed he had the alarming tendency to pass out while standing.

Well, he’s done another number on his stitches. It’s not as bad as before but the wound is a little spread. It’s not weeping and it seems to be clean and healing, so I guess he’s back to the satellite dish and the anti-depressants until the follow up next week. I don’t know what they’re going to do; I’m not sure there will be a stitch left to take out.

Yeah, you gotta keep the elizabeth collar on him no matter how irritating/funny/etc. His biggest impediment to healing is his own instincts, unfortunately.

Did they send the tumor out for histopathology?

Yes. But I haven’t heard back about that yet.

I had a dog decades ago that had a tumor removed, followed by surgical wound dehiscence. When the pathology report came back, it turned out that they hadn’t gotten it all and that was the reason for poor wound healing. A follow-up surgery was done and it healed perfectly.

Just a thought.

Harley looks so wise and dignified, while Gimly does … not.

Harley looks a little worried to me; while Gimly appears to be expecting a treat.
