Petition to Stop Petitions

Petition to shut down the White House petition website due to insincere petitions and equally insincere responses.

They got us the WH beer recipe. So that’s one concrete success.

Flipping through the responses, I don’t think they’re insincere. Most of them aren’t particularly informative though, since the issues are usually ones that the Administration already has a stated-position on. Reforming Wall Street response basically re-iterates Dodd-Frank, for example.

Plus there was a petition to allow every American to punch Grover Norquest once squarely in the balls without legal repercussion. I’d like to see how that shakes out before they shut the program down.

I like the one they did on the Man Show to end Women’s Suffrage.

Just to be clear, I didn’t start the petition. I did sign it, though.

I thought about signing it but since I’m not an American, I thought I’d better not. It’d be like I wasn’t taking the whole petition thing seriously enough.

I’m signing that and posting it to my facebook. I imagine the White House response will be a polite “that’s against our laws”, but it never hurts to try.

Fuck it. I was going to sign, but they want me to create an account. Too much work.

Well, the Norquist petition seems to be gone. But, it appears that Texas request to withdraw has over 110k signatures! Whaaahoooo… go Texas… no, really… GO far away.

I, for one, am onboard to overhaul our judicial system and replace it with a corps of motorcycle-riding judges who are the law.

Instead of tort reform, we could have cage matches. That would put a new twist in choosing an attorney. Screw brilliant, I want bronze to beat the crap out of that wimpy CEO.

Well, the secession ones have people from other states signing…
