Phat rims on piece of shit cars. Wtf is wrong with the world?

I kinda like the Pacer, actually. Well, its looks. Was it such a bad car?

I know I’m going to sound like an ignorant jackass, but it’s worth the risk. What is “rice” and/or a “ricer”? Besides the side dish variety?

Anyone? Bueller?

What I don’t understand is why people use the word “rims” to refer to what are, in fact, hubcaps.

Tru DAT, yo.

I’m assuming we’re not talking about hubcaps here, but chrome/alloy wheels. Right?

Enjoy.

Money?

Bad News Baboon-your Uncle Ben sticker is a stroke of genius. Course, we don’t want to spend to much dinero on this POS.

I’m a bit late, but as the Si Crapmobile was mentioned a few times before, I’ll elaborate on a few of it’s more charming traits.
[ul]
[li]Driver’s seat- The adjustment for the tilt of the back is broken, so we have a 2x4 wedged against the rear seat to hold it in place. Take it out, and you can slam from full upright to full recline and back with no resistance whatsoever[/li][li]Bumpin system- This thing has a stereo, and you can turn it on, and tune it, but the volume is stuck at the absolute minimum[/li][li]Exhaust- already has numerous holes in it, so we gots the ricer sound going on already. Also has a horrible rattle, so the slightest bump sounds like you’re shaking a tin can full of bolts[/li][li]Engine- The only car I’ve ever driven that noticeably loses power in the higher RPMs. It peaks at about 3300, by 6000 it’s lagging pretty bad[/li][li]Clutch/shifter- The clutch may be the worst I’ve ever driven. It’s in fairly good condition (doesn’t slip or chatter), it’s just the engagement is horrid. Letting the (very, excessively soft) pedal out, nothing happens for about the first 2/3 of the travel, then it’s like you hit a wall. BANG! Full contact. Now, if the shifter wasn’t the longest throw ever built, you could shift really fast with the thing[/li][li]VIN- Doesn’t really relate to the rest of the car, but is funny. The VIN corresponds to a Canadian, automatic, non-Si vehicle. Who knows what the hell happened there.[/li][/ul]

Actually, you CAN shift really quickly with it now, as all the clutch action is in the first third of the clutch pedal stroke. Doesn’t sound like a horrendous problem there: probably a worn out clutch cable. Happens with a lot of older cars.

Who said anything about hubcaps?

Coldfire asked about the Pacer – my brother’s girlfriend drives a light blue 1975 Pacer DL. It really is a cool-looking car, though it is slow, noisy and you smell like exhaust after riding in it, although those features are probably more functions of its age than anything else. It also has the largest doors I’ve ever seen. It must be hard to get out of the car in a parking lot without dinging the adjacent vehicles with the huge doors.
