Phew! It's a scorcher today

Very pretty.

The cool change arrived just over an hour ago. I think every single person in the street was outside within seconds, savouring the breeze.

See? It worked!

It was in the low 70s F (~23C) here in Northern California today. The daffodils and crocuses have started blooming.

Everybody on our street was immediately outside walking their dogs. Newtown has a very strong Dog Mafia.

I confess to humming a little bit of The Little River Band’s Cool Change while outside with our two.

10 degrees in an hour it dropped!!

Good grief, you Sydneysiders are pussies. Back in the time I lived in Melbourne, there were many times we had a WEEK or more well over the the 35c mark.

And two years ago, where I live now, we had TEN DAYS over the 40 mark. Admittedly, it’s a dry heat here, but that should not excuse your whingeing.
PS, it’s 23 here today, after two days of torrential rain. I’m cool and comfortable, and whilst the ‘garden’ is still inundated, I’m not complaining.

Unlike you malingerers.

Well, you chose to live in Hell, what do you expect?

Shithey, and at the time you were preaching all that “Melbourne, World’s most liveable city malarkey too”.
:d&r:

So on Friday, the PVC feeder pipe for the pool solar hot water system melted and buckled in the heat.

There’s heat, then there’s… heat.

(Near North Sydney, on top of a hill - you can see us from the expressway).

I just got back from a street party for all the new neighbours - it went ahead even though it was raining, on the grounds that it was a nice change :).

I may just possibly have one glass too many champagne.

Hic.

Ha, New Zealand here, was 36c at my place yesterday, all your damn hot Aussie weather coming over the ditch.

Mind you the hot weather has broken and it’s 20c and raining today.

Napier - around 32c (officially - mum & dad had 38 at their holiday home in the hills, we usually get +5 locally) all weekend, not expecting a change till Wednesday. Arrived at work and the aircon is not working.

Stewing.

Hot weather in Nu Zulland just in time for Cunctator’s arrival, poor bloke.

As long as he stays on the west coast or down south he’ll be fine.

15C, cloudy and drizzling in Wellington. Just perfect!

Someone sent me this picture the other day and I find it hilarious.

That’s pretty funny.

At half-time in the Superbowl this evening, i decided to go for a run. The sun was just setting, but it was still in the high 60s, and i was out running in shorts and a t-shirt. Living in Southern California has made me much more consistent in my exercise throughout the year.
