Phil Campbell, who was the guitarist for Motorhead from 1984-2015, has died at the age of 64. He also started the band Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons.
I haven’t seen an article, but Mikkey Dee’s Facebook page along with a few others have memorials to him.
Phil was one under rated guitar player! There were times at Motorhead concerts when I had to snap out of it and just look at the stage. 3 guys. All that sound, by 3 guys.
Yes, I also experienced Motorhead as a quartet, but when Phil was the only guy on the stage with a guitar, he delivered!

I never saw Motorhead as a quartet, but I did see them a number of times and Phil sure could play. I never listened to his newer stuff.
