Phil will miss the cut at the Phoenix Open with two horrible rounds of 76 and 73. I know this is just one tournament and it is an easy one to get distracted at. Still, this can’t be the start Phil wanted to this year. He’ll be under a lot of pressure at Torrey Pines next week as these are two events Phil usually does well in.

Yes, but I think Phil’s best chance to win a major is at the Masters. Phil doesn’t want to stumble into the Masters. He’d much rather go in with a 1st or second on the West Coast swing and a competitive Florida tournament.
He’ll turn 39 this year. While for a golfer that is not old, they generally have started to fall off of their peak performance by then (which usually averages around 31-34 years of age). He may not ever win a major again.
Then he might win 4. Golf can not be predicted very well. The Majors favor shot makers and putters.
If he grows his man-boobs back out to Colin Montgomerie proportions and maintains that goofy “aw shucks, me?” grin about himself, he’s a shoo-in.
