I did fail to register the carpentry barter. That said, I still think the cost factor is a pretty flimsy reason. In Massachusetts, where I live and work in healthcare and where the story takes place, it’s very very easy to have a baby at low or no cost in a hospital. I also don’t think it’s all that difficult to get your connector insurance premiums lowered if they truly could not afford the premium.
I think any 41-year-old woman who has had a C-section before is making a stupid, stupid decision if she decides to let a few hundred bucks sway her decision like that.
