Phooey! It's Phall!

I didn’t leave work till after 6 tonight, so I had my lights on all the way home – and not just as a courtesy to my fellow motorists. So I was thinking – it’s fall.

Then I got home, flipped on the TV – and heard my first political ad of this particular season. And my second. And my third.

Phooey. Summer is well and truly over.

Thank OG!! As with every summer, I just barely made it. Another week of 100+ degrees and killing sun from 5am to 7pm and I might have died.

Aaah… fall, winter, and spring are wonderful here.

I love Autumn. It’s my favorite season.

Good riddance to summer.

Yes, thank Og! I hate summer, feeling too hot and hiding from the sun. We had a lovely thunderstorm today that ushered out the unnaturally warm weather, and ushered in the wonderful coolness. Canadians, please, don’t keep the jet stream up there so much, 'kay? We like sharing your cool.

Re: political ads. One of the reasons I don’t have a tv anymore is so I don’t have to watch or hear political ads. Yes!

I second the Phooey! I don’t get home from work until the sun’s starting to dip and I have no time to spend in my garden, which is still producing cowpeas, cukes and tomatoes. I get up too early as well. :frowning:

Hooray for fall! I am loving the fact that it will be in the 60s by this weekend.

I could certainly do without this 80F+ weather myself. Canning is a fall activity, not an early-October-at-80 activity.

Down here in Southern Florida, it ain’t Fall yet. Sure, the weather is starting to cool off. By this I mean that it takes a few minutes longer before one starts praying for death because of the heat.

I MISS the fall so bad. I used to live in the Appalachians and I totally would love to be up there again, hiking in the early morning coolness of the forest, not a palm tree in sight. People down here have put up halloween decorations, but it just feels weird to see them while sweating it out in the heat.
