All right, it takes me a really long time to get going in the morning, but the office photocopier runs a close second. What’s it doing during those 5 to 10 minute “Please Wait – Warming Up” delays? I’m betting it’s just hitting its snooze alarm until I shake it awake by hitting the start button a couple dozen times.
It’s warming up (the fuser has to be pretty hot in order for the toner to stay on the paper). Some models also perform various self-cleaning tasks.
