Physiology of "Good" Versus "Bad" Cries?

Is there a physical reason for why some cries feel great and cathartic (and, in my experience, don’t make you look or feel like crap afterwards), and some feel awful (and, again in my experience, make you look and feel puffy, raw, headachey, etc.). There seems to be a correlation between the emotion and the physical result. Maybe it’s a durational thing as well. And maybe that’s all there is to it. But, any other more specific insights?
