Little help, please? I’m guessing it’s anatomical in nature.
When in doubt, it’s Urban Dictionary to the rescue!
Okay. So why is Dru using UK slang?
Notice that “Man, look at those charlies” is in quotes. I think it’s a thought appearing in her head from someone else, presumably looking through her eyes at her own reflection.
Finally I understand something about this story (the glacial pacing really makes it hard to follow). Thanks.
Then clue me in, please.
What I now understand is what Koxinga explained.
Hey, be thankful for that glacial pacing. When McEldowney writes a strip with faster pacing, it’s 9 Chickweed Lane, and even that’s going nowhere fast. The only people in the whole cast who have sex are the nun and the priest (and maybe Grandma and Thorax, but if they are, I don’t want to know…it’d be like watching a frog do a Butterball turkey).
I would assume that Juliette and her discipline-craving husband do it on occasion.
BTW, why is Juliette being such an utter bitch in the last couple of days in 9 Chickweed Lane? I know the author likes the dominatrix type, but this is getting ridiculous. It’s a comic strip, Brooke!
I’d forgotten about Juliette and whatsisname…
She’s always a bitch.
Heck, I figured that out. Anything mentioned in the plural with the succubus…but I digress.
What’s with the geeky guy? Who is the Babe With The Sword? What was being done to Pibgorn? What is the relationship between Pibgorn and the Succubus whose name escapes me? What happened to the little sister?
Pibgorn and Drusilla (sp?) are friends even though both are in love with Geoff, who has been left naked on the shore of a lake. Pib was apparently captured by some old guy who figured out how to use fairy magic as a power source; I think he’s running tests to see how much power she has. Old guy met up with geeky guy and showed geeky guy his lab. Geeky guy saw sword babe–identity and exact purpose unknown–on a monitor and fell in love. Dru faintly heard Pib’s call for help and followed it to old guy’s lab, whereupon old guy somehow merged her with Pib. Little sister, who Dru says is pure evil, tried to whack geeky guy with a hoe and got sucked inside one of the monitors; geeky guy later followed. And there we are.
Thanks, Lute.
Don’t forget Drusilla’s month-long ravishing of a medieval studies professor along the way. Utterly pointless vis-a-vis the plot, but one suspects that McEldowney gets his jollies writing this strip in more ways than one.
Yeah, well…Pibgorn is the strip that lets him go full-out what he can only coyly hint at in Chickweed Lane…
You’re quite welcome, Mr. Plant.
Didn’t forget, also didn’t feel it noteworthy.
I’ve only just noticed that with the beginning of the year, McEldowney has returned to six-day-a-week strip. But it appears with a bit of a twist. Every other day or so, the comic is a rough sketch of the color one for the next (or perhaps the previous) day. Thus, in the strip for 01/10, we see that apparently Dru and Pib are inhabiting the same body, which has been modified with features that are new to one or the other. Pib is the one admiring her (their) boobies, Dru is somewhat bemused by the presence of wings.
At the moment, I’m not entirely clear on whether McEldowney wants to move forward with Dru and Pib being aware of each other within the body. The color strip for 01/09 suggests “no”, but the sketch strip of 10/10 suggests “yes”.
I like the geeky guy’s inner comment on the hot samurai babe as he watches her run off: “It can’t be safe to run with that .”
