Pick the only Beatles song you can ever listen to again, ever.

The more songs people name the more impossible this becomes!

My heart goes out to “For no one” but for some inexplicable reason I want to say “And Your Bird Can Sing.” It’s just so BOUNCY. And I have fond childhood memories of it being in the corny Beatles TV cartoon. (Does anyone remember that? I think it might have been a Rankin/Bass production.)

Probably Dear Prudence but I don’t listen to much Beatles.

Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End…

Let It Be

Tomorrow Never Knows

(She Said She Said or Rain come close. You can see I like what John was up to in '66.)

(Come to think of it, he seems to have brought out the best in Ringo that year, too.)

A painful choice to contemplate.

In My Life

I think I would go for “For No One”. Part of it is that falling bass line of the chords and part is that simple mix of upbeat music and downtrodden lyrics.

“I Saw Her Standing There” - but I’m glad to see all the love for “Hey Bulldog!”

Just reading all of these selections makes choosing one impossible. I’d almost rather have none and rely on my memory.

Revolution 9.

I like a challenge.

(just dropping a mini-post-party note for myself … this is my 10,000th post)

This is a total no brainer for me: A Day in the Life.

Come Together, because I nail that song singing and playing bass.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps has been my fave Beatles song for a long, long time, so it’s a fairly simple choice for me, even if it means leaving such a massive collection of fantastic music behind.

Here Comes the Sun.

Yup.

All You Need Is Love.

Eleanor Rigby. Not only is it my favorite, but the way the molded the musical ending has a universality to it that just invites you to listen to it again.

Wouldn’t be that hard for me, since there aren’t that many Beatles songs I like. “Eleanor Rigby” is my favorite. I’d miss “Yesterday,” but I’d get over it.

“No Reply”

It takes me right back to youth. Quintessential early Beatles harmony.

Either *In My Life *or Here, There and Everywhere. Probably HTE.
