In the current Something Positive strip, Helen has two small circles on the front of her chest just below her shoulders. She also has a tattoo of an eagle on her chest so I suppose the circles could be tattooed. But they don’t appear to be tattoos. What they look like is piercing studs. (You can see that Nancy has a piercing below her lower lip.)
Is that possible? Do people get piercings on their clavicles?
I think they look really cool when they’re healed…but pics of the newly-placed ones make me wince. Maybe I could just glue a sequin to my clavicle instead…
A friend has a cobra tattoo on his chest. There is a surface piercing done with red faceted balls on the ends of the barbell to create the snake’s eyes.
I’ve also seen a hand grenade chest tattoo utilizing a nipple ring as the grenade’s pin.
I noticed someone recently on a TV show who appeared to have piercings/implants a little further down on her chest, maybe an inch lower, and they appeared to just go straight into the chest rather than having the barbell appearance. My husband and I decided they must be secured like hollow-wall anchors with the butterfly doodads inside the skin.
Those clavicle piercings are one of the more attractive ones, IMO. Most of the body modifications I see are pretty cool, but I get a little scared about them when I realize what earlobes look like on old people. Still, I suppose they’ll have earlobe, nose, and nipple transplants by the time the piercing generation gets that old.
Helen was very, very plain when she lived in Bellville (the setting of Penny & Aggie)…she got a makeover when she moved to Boston, and went even further between when she moved in with Nancy - and made an ass of herself drunk calling Davan - then disappeared for a while, and when she reappeared - apparently not having been killed and buried in a shallow grave by Davan and/or Nancy.
