I saw one of those radical clerics waving The Mirror pictures about on the news trying to recruit more lunatics. Ruined the British Army’s reputation in Iraq all for a good story. What a world.
The thing that ires me the most is how he was saying the pictures were genuine right up until they showed him the door. They were FAKE. As in NOT GENUINE. They weren’t even taken in Iraq!
Once again, thanks for endangering the lives of my countrymen in Iraq to sell copies of your newspaper.
I’m just amazed this wally lasted so long. It’s astounding that in a country where Rebecca Wade is allowed to run newspapers, she’s still not the editor with the least credibility.
Frogmarched off the property without being allowed to pick up his coat, too. Nice touch…
The real tragedy is that Piers Morgan’s moronic behaviour means that the very genuine reports of illtreatment by British troops will have less credibility than they deserve.
I doubt most Iraqis have any inkling that The Times Of London differs in any way, shape or form from The Mirror. I certainly wouldn’t be able to name which Arabic news sounces are credible and which seek to spin (save a couple). Bad judgement combined with bad timing here to make an unfortunate situation even more inflamatory.
No, see, they were genuine in the way that they showed things that had genuinely happened. This is what the Mirror (or more specifically Morgan) had meant all along, but some people obviously misunderstood what they were saying.
Don’t laugh. This is what the Mirror were trying to spin in recent days. I think they reckoned that if it could work for Bush and his WMDs, it could work for them.
