Pimping, statutory rape, and apathy, oh my!

This is evidently breaking news out of the St. Louis area. No cites to be found as of yet but I had to post something.

Judging from the report on the radio, police raided a farmhouse in one of the St. Louis suburbs. The woman who owns the house has a 15-year-old daughter and at least 12 tenants, one of whome is a 22-year-old man who was paying good ol’ mom to fuck her daughter! 11 of the other tenants knew what was going on but did nothing! The police, who must have been acting on a tip from a neighbor, raided the house either last night or this morning. They found illegal guns and (IIRC) drugs.

There, I feel somewhat better now. I’m sure a cite will be forthcoming when one is available.

I may have been a little off. No mention of mom being paid.

Oh MY! a 15-yr. old and a 21-yr. old? You don’t say! That’s SO unheard of burn him at the stake!

Oh come now. What if the woman was really pimping her dautgher? How is it that none of the other tenants did a damn thing? How long would it have continued if it hadn’t been for a simple stolen pistol? How’d the cops figure out this was going on anyway? Everything in this story stinks!

She wasn’t pimping her daughter, was she?

I love the aliases: Debra Weed and Debra Luster. There are two drag queens in Arkansas who want their names back.

Sorry Jeff, not seeing this as the crime of the century, unless it can be demonstrated that the daughter was an unwilling participant. Leaving aside the legal issue of age of consent, I’m not too upset about a 15 year old voluntarily having sex with a 21 year old.

The name change puzzled me too.

“Let’s change it from Cox to Weed. That’ll be sooo much better.”

I’m having an especially hard time getting worked up about this since the age of consent here is 14 and I had plenty o’ consensual sex w/ adults for about a year before I was “legal.”

Paying rent to someone who is related to the person you’re having sex with does not equal prostitution.

Traces of drugs were found in a house with 12 occupants?

Uh, right. Burn the mom.

I agree, stolen guns are bad, m’kay? Can’t get up a good froth over it though, sorry. And the rest? Deal.

What if she was really preparing to sacrifice her to a blood-drenched effigy of Morley Safer while dancing under the light of the moon? What if she was really planning to dress her up in an explosive vest and give her backstage access to the Dr. Phil show?

How’d you know we were all going to be so apathetic about this total non-event, anyway?

Unknown at this time. Drug abuse has been known to make the abusers do anything to get money for their next fix.

Normally, I wouldn’t be either. What I see in the article is a big stink coming from a bunch of little piles of shit.

$90,000 bail, sex, drugs and guns, - somebody’s up for re-election.

The Edwardsville Intelligencer has a better article. Lovely bunch of malcontents in that house.

The mother allowed activity that fits the legal definition for sexual abuse in her state. I’m glad she was charged. Now where to I find details about your assertion that there was pimping or pandering involved?

That was the original impression I got from the radio report. I’ve already admitted that it might be the wrong impression.

IME, the term ‘aliases’ covers wide range of stuff including:

  1. Some one intentionally giving a false name at arrest.

  2. A legal name change (ie marriage etc).

  3. Some one’s typo (I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen something like this as an alias: “Brian Johnson aka Bryan Johnson aka Brian Johnsen”).

It sounds as if the household occupants may have been mom, mom’s sixty-year-old boyfriend, the kids, and assorted friends of the kids. Instead of mom allowing a tenant to screw her daughter, she may have allowed her daughter’s boyfriend to move in.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad Debra Weed (heh) isn’t my neighbor.
