Pink Floyd and Wizard of Oz was intentional

Farmer John is a funny guy. How old are you John? Gay? I’m 18 and more mature than you. Thats sad. I’m not very mature. And i’m not gay like you. No no, you see, the triangles are on albums, not being played or whatever. I must have struck a nerve with farmer john. He sounds mad. Probably because what he thinks isn’t true and he’s found evidence that proves it isn’t real, but he’s too stubborn to admit it. Its sad to see someone like that. Oh, why didn’t you mention the Gigi soundtrack on Ummagumma and the other important stuff? You’ve been leaving the important stuff out… why?

ScOo_gUy

Yes, the Gigi soundtrack. You’re quite right, that is the proof we have been looking for! Damn government better do something about this.

All kidding aside, I think it’s great that you have learned how to use your computer. It must be terribly frustrating, not to be able to make rude and disgusting statements in your real life, seeing as how you would get your ass kicked. The internet, and its concomitant anonymity, must be a Godsend to pencil-necked punks like yourself.

Opinions are not facts, boy. Just because you have convinced yourself of something, does not make it so.

Please feel free to continue to abuse me, personally, to try to prove your point. You have no idea how ridiculous it makes you look, it hurts me not one whit, and it’s the funniest thing I’ve seen all day.

You will note that not ONE… not ONE person here holds the same belief that you do in this thoroughly discredited notion.

Video tape, on large reels, may indeed have been invented in the 1950s. Video cassettes, at least for the home market, did not come out until the very late '70s.

8-track tapes almost always altered the order of the songs. There were also additional pauses, not featured in any other medium, as the tape changed tracks.

The gay rights symbol is, of course, a pink triangle.

Nam daed, no em nrut.

If I might step in here with a word of advice for our new member, ScoOo_gUy:

I highly recommend that you not call someone ‘gay’ in such a manner that it appears to be meant as an insult. Quite a large number of highly respected members of these boards are gay. If this is going to be a problem for you, you might wish to reconsider your decision to participate in discussions here.

Thank you for your time. Sorry for the off-topic post.

It hurts me to see, with all the technology and education benifits, that there are still stupid people in this world. :frowning: . Oh well… On my 8 track there are no alternaing of songs… Hmm, maybe you should buy a new 8 track player or clean it or something. It also hurts me to see that people are stupid enough not to believe the truth. I guess their has to be non-believers and believers, but I didn’t know they were going to be so stupid. Farmer John, I have pity for you.

To Coosa, i wasn’t meaning gay as in the having sex with the same…sex. Which is stupid, but I was meaning gay as in Farmer…errr, stupid.

-Back to John-
Why didn’t you tell me why Gigi was on the cover of Ummagumma? Try watching the synch with Ummagummas studio album with the movie Gigi. Start the album after the third roar (three is a magic number) and have the album going continously. Like my 8 track. Oh, and listen very carefully to the lyrics in the song Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave and Grooving With a Pict. Also, Roger Waters said that his greatest regret was not doing the score for the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Strangly enough Stanley Kubrick said his greatest regret was he didn’t have Pink Floyd do the score for 2001: A Space Odyssey. And even stranger, Pink Floyd re-released Ummagumma in 1973 with the songs in a different order. Now why’d they go and do that? Hmm, and if you play the re-released ummagumma to the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, it synchs up nicely. Guess its the government. Better do something about it, right?

ScOo_gUy

Your pity is unnecessary, boy. I do quite well, thanks, my stupidity and mental retardation notwithstanding.

You seem to have completely ignored the fact that your idiotic theory was disproved years ago, and that I posted the link in the very first response. Why you refuse to even read the article by David of the SDSAB is mystifying to me.

Continually repeating a crackpot theory does not constitute proof. Ad hominem attacks upon me will not only fail to hurt my feelings, they have the added effect of demonstrating your own ignorance of the scientific method. Intelligent, well-spoken people who respond to you are called “stupid,” and THIS is supposed to constitute PROOF?

And STILL there is not ONE coherent person who agrees with you… so WHO is deserving of pity?

I have posted to truth and you have not believed. For you are stubborn. Have you watched any of the synchronicities? Watch them. Then you will know. You will say to yourself “my wife left me because i’m an idiot and that I haven’t got an open mind.” I used to think that synchs weren’t possible until I watched one for myself. Also, you said nothing about what I said about Jerry Garcia. http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Balcony/8968/PF/DefinitiveList.html now with 96 synchs! Wow, 96? You’re right, they’re all a coincidence.

You’re mad.
Ruprecht! Do you want the genital cuff?

For those of you scoring at home, that last post contained four personal attacks on the Farmer, and zero facts, as opposed to opinions.

Opinions are not facts. Just because you THINK something is so, and you INSIST something is so, doesn’t MAKE it so. Most children learn this by the age of five.

Some children NEVER learn.

Have you watched any of them? If not, why are you posting here? Watch the ummagumma re-release synch, The Wizard of OZ if you haven’t, and watch 2001: Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite with Echoes, but don’t get too involved with the movie. Watch the gestures and get to know the mood of the scenes. Then, you can come and tell me your lies.

ScOo_gUy

Only one personal attack in that one. You’re approaching the standards of civilized conduct. Bring it down to zero personal attacks per post, and your “message” might become clearer.

And I am posting here because I wish to. I do as I please, and I do not answer to children for it.

Whats that? I thought you were the one who started the insults.
So, you haven’t watched any of the synches but, yet you know that they weren’t intentional huh? Oh ok.

ScOo_gUy

And I am posting here because I wish to. I do as I please, and I do not answer to children for it.

Really?

Really.

Now… found any proof? Remember, “it just synchs!” ain’t proof. Bring me proof, and I’ll look at it.

I know the synchs were unintentional because the band and the album’s producer SAY they were unintentional… are you EVER going to read David’s research, or are you just going to keep insisting that you know better than the actual people involved in the making of the album?

Your theory has been disproved. In your very first post, you asked why we thought this was unintentional. I proved that it was unintentional in the very NEXT post, thanks to David’s excellent research. QED.

And still, you are a lone voicce in the wilderness, the only one incapable of understang that amazing coincidences happen.

You still haven’t told me why Gigi is on the cover of Ummagumma.

I have no idea. And that was not the stated topic. You specifically asked why we thought the “synch” of Wizard and DSOTM was unintentional.

We think that it is unintentional because we can read.

You don’t know??? Oh. You, again, were the one who changed the topic (out of us two that is). why does it have the lyrics “Gone with the wind” in the song San Tropez (album Meddle) ??? And why is Meddle synched with Gone With the Wind?..Farmer John? Don’t know either? Wait, maybe thats the way Pink Floyd wanted it. yeah.

ScOo_gUy

One might think that that is the way they wanted it, unless they read the SDSAB article by Dave. Then one would realize that they specifically DENY having synched their album to the movie.

This link

http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mdarkside.html

explains it… in English. It’s a very good article. I recommend it to you, yet again.

I regret that your insults and name-calling have still failed to hurt my feelings, but I have no doubt you will continue. You just can’t help yourself, can you?

ScOo_gUy, your question has been answered. You have been proved wrong. So says the band, so says the producer, so says all the evidence that does not consist of opinion or coincidence.

I therefore declare this topic closed. I will not waste one more minute on you. You are a disagreeable, disrespectful young person, with atrocious grammar and a disorganized mind. Your insistence upon making personal attacks upon your betters, simply because they will not indulge your pet theories and childish behavior, make you an unacceptable correspondent. You will waste no more of my time.

I’ve watched them. I wasn’t impressed. Yeah, there are a few amusing coincidences. BFD. I suppose the effect is a lot better if you’re on acid at the time.

Dark Side of the Moon was released on vynyl (sp?) in 1973. Sony started marketing Betamax VCRs in 1975 - at a cost of over $2,000. Precious few movies were transferred to Beta (most that were, were done so several years after, between 1977 and the early 1980s, when the video format war was declared officially over.)

VHS players came onto the market in the late seventies, but didn’t catch on until the early 80s.

At any rate, there is no way Pink Floyd could have possessed a video transfer of Wizard of Oz while they were recording Dark Side of the Moon (off and on between 1970 and 1973). The best they could have had would be an original print of the film. Certainly not unobtainable, but it’s impossible for them to have known what editing, if any, the original print would suffer when transferred to video (assuming they were, in fact, capable of predicting the future.)
