Pink Floyd as Soundtrack

No, no, not Wizard of OZ. That’s been done to death. But from the trivia section of the IMDB:

Wow… not only that, but a bit down the list is this too:

Whoa… Floyd predates the Dead in my own personal musical evolution, but this takes me by surprise. Anyone out there give this a look/ listen? How was it? Would anyone like to take a crack at lyrical interpretation (c&p’d below)? Now I have another reason to buy the movie.
Looking forward to any replies…

I haven’t seen any “official” lyrics to Echoes, and it was known to vary quite a bit over the course of the Floyd’s tours (I have a few bootleg variations of it with verses rearranged, lyrics changed, and stuff). Anyway, here is what I had always thought were the lyrics (my best guess :)) I added my differences in parentheses…

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant time comes billowing across the sand
(The echo of a distant tide comes rillowing across the sand)
And everything is green, the sun beneath
(And everything is green and submarine)
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the where’s or the why’s
But something stares and something tries
(But something stirs and something tries)
And starts to climb towards the land
(And starts to climb toward th light)
Strangers passing in the street by chance to separate closes meet
(…by chance two separate glances meet)
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the dawn
And no one forces down our eyes
And no one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun
Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes
(Cloudless as the day evolves upon my waking eyes {ok, pretty weak guess here})
Inviting and insighting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And crawl to you across the sky
(And call to you across the sky)

Uh … guys?

Shouldn’t “insighting” be “inciting”?
