This evening my fraternity has an exchange with a sorority here on campus. The theme is “Pirates of the Caribbean”. For various reasons I’ve been unable to prepare a costume and now the hour is almost upon me. I’m looking for something funny and quirky to go as that you wouldn’t think of right away. My current ideas are:
Go in all white. I’m a sail
Go in all brown. I’m a plank.
Get a Pittsburgh Pirates jersey.
Use a TShirt transfer and put some witty phrase like ‘Butt Pirate’ on the back. (Juvenile yes, but it is a fraternity party.)
The rest I leave to you all! Departure is 8pm Pacific time.

If you can get your hands on a tutu and some googly-eye glasses, you could wear those; when people ask you what you are, you can say, “I’m just a little dinghy.”
Go as “music piracy”, or whatever it is that the RIAA likes to whine about… hang a bunch of obviously-copied CDs off of your clothes. For better thematicness, have the CDs be of Caribbean music.
Go to a thrift store or something and get a frilly lacy dress and a pretty umbrella. Make sure you are unshaven and oily, put some stain on your teeth, mess up your hair, then put on the dress and carry the umbrella. Then you’ll be one of the pirates disguised in the boat to distract the Navy guys.
