I thought it clearly came from the old salior’s myth that if you kept going in one direction long enough you’d sail right off the edge of the world. Am I wrong? I didn’t read NailBunny’s spoiler. (NailBunny: If it’s speculation, don’t box it. If it’s factual information you’ve read or seen outside of wide advertisements, box it.)

But good God, I can’t wait to see this one. 
Well, of course. But this is set in a time when circumnavigations were routine, and there was no doubt at all that the world was round. So it would be a very special route indeed which would take you to the Edge of the World. This concept showed up in Tolkien’s works, where, even after the World was made round (it was originally flat, but the shape was changed in a cataclysmic event), it was still possible, through birthright, incredible luck, or a combination of the two, to sail the “Straight Path” (i.e., not curving with the surface of the now-round Earth), and thereby reach the realms of the Valar (approximately, gods).
I loved the first two and I am excited about the new one. The trailer is awesome. I’m glad the monkey is still around as he is one of favorite characters in the movies.

According to the people I saw it with, the second one was pretty cool, so I hereby resolve to drink less rum at the before party in the hopes that I remember some of this one.
I don’t like them. Good cinematography. Good make up and special effects. But otherwise boring as hell. YMMV

I mostly agree with Leaffan. The first one was sorta entertaining, but nothing special. The second was extremely dull. I’m not sure how, but a movie with pirates, an undead monkey, and Kiera Knightly bored me. I wouldn’t have guessed that such a thing was possible, but, well, there you are.
I loved the first one it was so good, the second movie really left me wondering what was going to happen next. I am really excited about P3 I love the cast they are all really good actors. I think it is safe to say it will be a big box office hit!

Ohmigosh I got to see it early this week at a special screening and this movie was freaking AWESOME!!! I think this one has to be the best thus far. It was so good I know I will see it at least 2 more times this weekend!
Yay!!! I’m so excited! The couple reviews I’ve read so far have all been good, but the initial reviews for Dead Man’s Chest were good as well, and then for some reason that one was nearly universally panned (despite making over a billion dollars and, you know, being awesome).
Out of all the clips I’ve seen, I think I’m most excited by the idea of… (spoilers, obviously)
The Pirate Lords - I love that they were all actually based on real-life pirates! They’ve got the corsairs, the privateers, the Chinese pirates…it just looks fantastic!
