Pitch a movie!

Here’s mine:

Working title: Dog Days of Summer, starring Will Ferrell, Heather Graham

Setting: Midwestern U.S., late spring.

A lonely, but attractive businesswoman, Eva (Heather Graham) carves out a suburban existence surrounded by happy families, while she just continues to listen to her biological clock tick, tick, ticking away. One night, while eating dinner alone in front of the TV, her little dog Nibbles puts his head on her lap and stares up at her. As she scratches his head, she wishes out loud that he were human. “You’re the only man who’s been in my life for more than 2 years and stuck around,” she sighs.

When she goes to bed that night, she turns off the light and kisses Nibbles on the head as he cozies up next to her.

The next morning, she wakes up to discover a naked man in her bed (Will Ferrell). She freaks out, screams, scrambles for her cell phone, all the while the man innocently questions “What’s wrong? What’s wrong?” as he runs in circles and tries to squeeze under the bed.

Unable to find her phone, she screams “Who are you?” The man snaps around toward the door and yells “Get out! Get out! Get out! Get out!” until he realizes there’s no one there. He turns back around and asks her “Who are you talking to?”

“You!” she screams.

“Me? It’s me! Nibbles!”

She suddenly realizes her dog is no where to be found, and she begins frantically calling him. “Nibbles! Nibbles!”

“Here I am!” the man replies eagerly. “Here I am!”

Eventually she comes to the realization that her dog has somehow become human. The rest of the movie deals with Will Ferrell having to adjust to living as a human in a human’s world.

As the summer goes by, Eva starts to fall more and more for Nibbles (she tries changing his name to Joe, but he just doesn’t respond). Soon, she realizes she’s in love.

By late August, changes start happening to Nibbles. He starts getting hairier, occasionally words come out as barks, etc.

They realize he’s returning to his old dog self. Eva doesn’t want him to change back, and she has to again deal with being alone.

Nibbles says some tearjerky stuff, they go to bed, and when they wake up in the morning, he’s all dog.
End

Gotta have a scene in which the lovestruck Eva apologizes for having had Nibbles “fixed.”

Not the most original concept, but I love the ending. Hollywood would either have them get married or have him help her find someone else. Yours is a lot better.
