"The Office", 4/14 OPEN SPOILERS

(What? No Office thread yet?)

Okay, it was a bit over-the-top… okay, way over-the-top believability wise… but it still had some really funny parts.

Erin not know wether to use her name answering the phone “Umm… I’m sorry… (click)”

Or Will Ferrell lauging at Andy acting dumb then telling him “Eat some soap!”

Will Ferrell!! Must see this asap.

I liked the episode, I’m not sure if it was that much more over-the-top than most other episodes. Jim, (who said he’s not a ‘suck up’ before), and Pam were a little out of character, so was Darryl. But I’m looking forward to see where they go with this…

A couple of chuckles, but mostly boring for me. I did laugh at Erin’s “Dunder Mifflin, this is.” Andy’s anguish at now being the ‘funny guy’ was amusing also. Ferrell tending to be somewhat of a psycho could be good for some amusement.

Michael referring to Jim and Pam as “jap” was hilarious.

I thought it was okay, but not great. I think the problem that having both Michael and Vincent is a little too much; I didn’t really get a sense of Vincent’s character. I did laugh at the peanut allergy thing.

“The desert is one of my favorite ecosystems.”

The Native American girl… what’s her name?

Most Office fans on the site I go to didn’t like it. Oh well, I thought it was ok.

I liked it, but I like Will Ferrell.

There I said it.

Do you mean Kelly, who’s Indian (Asia), rather than Indian (America)?

Yes, Will Ferrell’s character said that line. Delivered in much the same way that Michael would.

Me too! Ferrell fans unite!

He actually played the role fairly understated (for him, at least). It was mostly everyone acting crazy around him. The only time he was really “wacky” was during the whole peanut thing.

That and the backwards hug thinig with Michael.

…and “eat some soap”.

Bwhaaaa… I’m sorry, Munch, I realized after posting I sould have “” that.

Remember? As Will is going into the meeting after he and Michael had the bizarro embraceo? Michael told him “You’ll figure it out.”

Of course - the one time I got up to get something out of the kitchen. Not having a DVR anymore sucks! :smack:

I thought this was pretty awful. Did we have to go back to Michael-as-infant? The only thing I found funny at all was the part about the turtle.

I don’t think this was Michael being angry about not being the center of attention as has happened in the past. I think this was the Michael way of dealing with being replaced which is natural in this circumstance.

I wasn’t looking forwrad to this but will ferrell worked fine. I also recently saw The Other Guys for the first time and it was much better than I expected so he has impressed me twice

BTW I was on his side in the fight over the phone. “Dunder-Mifflin, this is Pam (or Erin)” always seemed weird to me.

“So I guess this is my life now.” was priceless!

And not just being replaced but everyone in the office was treating Ferrel like Michael wished they treated him the whole time he was there.

DeAngelo is such an unusual name… I wonder if it’s a weird nod to The Wire, given that another new-boss-at-Dunder-Mifflin was Charles (I think), played by Idris Elba, from The Wire, and DeAngelo is the name of a major character from The Wire. Or am I reaching?
Anyhow, a decent episode, not great.
