Pitchers and catchers what? Woohoo!

Yeah, most likely. But bickering over crumbs is half the fun of spring training when you get down to it.

I personally would love to see Boston take down the Yankees. And I’d be cheering for them if they made the playoffs. At least until they met up with the Angels in the ALCS and the Angels exacted revenge upon them for 1986.

Me too. I will, of course, be cheering for the Orioles, but i’m a realist as well, and if Boston wins the division then i will consider it a pretty good season.

Orioles fans have my condolences for your asshat owner and lousy contracts. A friend of mine who is a major O’s fan and I were discussing the other day where the signing of Albert Belle to a guaranteed contract ranked on the all time worst personnel moves.

What a sucker trade! I think Sabean would be willing to get a worn out batting practice ball in exchange for ol’ Lumpy…if he could get it.

Felipe Alou is way too optimistic. My knee jerk reaction to the future of the Giants after last season was that they wouldn’t make the playoffs. I see no reason to change my mind.

Dusty Baker made me a Giants fan after growing up a Cubs fan, so this is going to be a strange year for me…

Are the dodgers for sale still ? Last i heard fox was going to put them up for sale …

At the time they thought it was going to be the most expensive sale in history …

Who would buy them if they are tho ?

Lots of people, I imagine. The Dodgers are a major brand name still and should be back in the black in a season or two after they clear out some of those contracts.

And I don’t see why San Fran fans are so pessimistic. The only productive player in the field that they lost was Kent. Alfonzo is much more productive in the hot corner than Bell is. And the outfield, with Durham and Grissom is seriously upgraded. The only spot you lose production is second where they have Neifi Perez replacing Kent which is admittedly terrible. But I think the other replacements are more than worth it.

I know Santiago won’t do as well this year, but Aurilia should be better so I think they cancel each other out.

Their rotation shouldn’t be that bad, either. Ortiz was a tough loss and Reuter probably won’t be as good this year, but the two young guys Foppert and Ainsworth should be good. Plus one or both of them can go in to help bolster the bullpen.

And don’t forget that the NL West isn’t that great this year. Johnson or Schilling is going to get hurt this season, I can feel it, so they might just be out of the picture. So the only other real competition is the Dodgers and, well, have you looked at the Dodger’s roster? I think the Giants will probably win the division. Maybe not reach the World Series, but at least make it to the playoffs. And you never know what happens then.
