I think you are all disregarding how little attention the average person pays to politics, especially politics as presented by the mainstream media, and if they do think back to Trump’s first term they think that (a) the sky didn’t fall then, and (b) the economy was supposedly better then. (Of course part of the issue was that there were adults in the room for most of Trump’s first term who counseled against many of his stupid, destructive, and/or illegal ideas.)

Look the US has been in a race war for hundreds of years, sometimes hot, sometimes cold. You can’t compare old white people to us, they have always been Maga.
I was born in 1971, the civil rights act had only been passed 7 years before. This stuff is within my lifetime and my parents, aunts and uncles lived it.
We make up 13% of the population in a country that has hated and fought against us for years. Any black person that voted for Maga, who is openly telling us they still hate us and want to go back to all those dark days is a traitor to that fight and any future fight.
I just to be clear again, I’m not saying that all white people are racist. That of course can’t be true. I will say the US leans racist or at least turns a blind eye to racism in recent times.

It’s a recurring theme - see the discussion about Alina Habba’s comment “I’d rather be pretty than smart” and commentary on her attractiveness, compared to the paucity of discussion around Giuliani’s physical appearance. It’s “let’s pick on this thing about this minority that we ignore in people that look like us”.

77.2-million to 74.9-million is hardly a crushing. Yes, for the first time Trump won the popular vote, but it still wasn’t majority, but a plurality. The sad part is the 3-million voters who didn’t turn out this year compared to 2020. Might not have made a difference – surely they were not all former Biden voters – but why with all the clamor did they think voting didn’t matter?
